My prayers and thoughts for the family of Bos Johnson. I have missed him since I left WSAZ in 1975. But after many years we were able to reconnect on via email. I would have liked to have taken Bos with me on my journeys to other markets but he belonged to West Virginia and West Virginia wouldn't dare let him go. So Long, Bos, my mentor and friend.

My condolences in the death of my dear friend Bos. He was a supervisor and co-worker at WSAZ and an associate with Public Broadcasting. We shared many of the same ideas and goals, and he was very ethical in his approach to problems and life. He will be truly missed.

We are sorry we are unable to attend the memorial service, but our thoughts and prayers are with Dottie and the family.

To the Johnson family you are in my thoughts and prayers. I have so many fond memories of Bos. Dad would do the engineering and Jim Thacker and Bos would do the game on radio. Later I enjoyed every time I would meet him, he had such a wide breath of knowledge, I also learned something each time. One occasion does stick out. At the end of the 1960 baseball season he gave me the black and white individual photos of the World Series winning Pittsburgh Pirates. Back then the were posted on a board who every the star of the game was. He also later gave me all of the photos because video tape arrived. I still have all of the pictures and I treasure them. He was a kind and generous man. He will me missed.

He was one of the "good guys" on the air and off. I met Bos when I went to work at WGNT Radio in Huntington in 1971 - or 72. WSAZ had the two city newscast , a local version of the Huntley Brinkley Report.

Later, came very close to working for Bos, will always wish that could have happened.

My regards to his family and countless friends... Joe Gillespie, CBS Radio , Las Vegas

Dottie & Family, so much has been said and written about Bos, in the 28 hours since I opened your email; doubtless all gratifying to you and earned by his selfless service to others throughout his life. But the fact remains he had gone to be with our Lord and its up to us to carry on till we're called. Prayers for peace, for each of you, as you pass through the troubled waters standing on your faith.
C. Bosworth Johnson set an example to all of us who knew and loved him and none more than his family. Love & Blessings from Pam & I

Bos touched so many lives. I didn't have the opportunity to work with him. I will always remember he met me for lunch and offered his help and guidance any time I needed it as I came to Huntington. He had a great career and life! Our sympathy to the family. Bill and Teressa Cummings

I remember your dad from watching WSAZ TV growing up. Ask God to allow you to have great memories of your dad. Allow God to comfort you and your family during this time. I've lost mother and father and only the love of Jesus Christ sustains even now.

Like most people, I did not know Bos as well as I wish I had, but I feel honored to have know him as well as I did. Bos will continue to serve as THE example of what a newsman should be. His memory and legacy will be that of a good and decent man. I pray and cry for his family, especially Dotty.

I had the honor to meet Bos back in the early '60's when Mr. Cartoon aired at 4PM. He was one of the best newscasters for WSAZ.

I grew up watching WSAZ, the only station my parents would watch. Bos and D.J. were the best in their business. What a legacy he left behind. My condolences to the family.
