Clyde J. King

Clyde J. King of Kansas City, Mo., passed at home on Wednesday, July 2, 2008. He left to join his wife, Billie Jean King, who preceded him in death in 2004. Clyde was a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area. Clyde was a WW II veteran of the 14th Armored Division of the U.S. Army. His division was called the Liberators, for liberating prisoners of war camps during the war. Clyde attended UMKC after the war and worked at Bendix Aviation Corp., Westinghouse Electric, Western Electric, and retired from Farmland Industries Inc. as a Systems Programming Analyst. Clyde was proud of his family and his service to God and service to his country. Clyde is survived by his children, Carol, Suzan and her husband Terry, Ann and her husband Mike, Denise, and Bill and his wife Dorothy, 12 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild on the way. The family wishes to thank Clyde's physicians and Crossroads Hospice for all their loving care and patience.
