Loving God, the Father of us all, I thank you for my father, the son of a great soldier who assisted with giving us all this wonderful land we reside on today. Along with my mother, through the marvel of your creation, my father gave me the gift of life itself. He was such a good teacher and mentor, such a wonderful example of how to live a life of trust, happiness and care for myself and others. Please take care of him now as you prepare him for the rewards of eternal life. Amen
