Colin Butler Obituary

Colin Alexander Butler

Known to family and friends as Alex, and to rail riders as the "LilRokFox"(or "Foxy"), and to his mom, as "Grasshopper" and "my Best Friend".

He was born in North Little Rock AR to Gray and Lee Butler on July 1st 1987 and died in Minneapolis MN July 4th 2023. He had just celebrated his 36th birthday. Alex was predeceased by his sister, Christina "Christi" M Dippel, and is survived by his parents and one loving big brother, Michael Dane Butler. Extended family includes niece, Emily Dippel of Conway AR, nephew, Andrew Dippel of Hot Springs AR, uncle and aunt, Grover G and Estalea Butler and family of Sulphur LA, and uncles Larry Owens and Clark Simmons of Decatur GA, along with numerous cousins and other relations too many to name.

Alex enjoyed music, cooking, learning French, and rail- hopping, and especially being free out in 'God's Country'. Over the years, he was a member of several local "punk" bands, singing, writing songs, playing the guitar and drums, and had the rare ability to play both left- and right-hand guitars with both left and right hands. His cooking gathered praises from diners, locally and in Minneapolis, and often sold out before the end of mealtime. His great passion was hopping trains, with about 420 trains ridden. He was known in Hobo circles as "the LilRokFox" with his "moniker" of stacked Vs with double cross bars, found in rail yards across the nation.

Alex had a wry sense of humor, a quick wit, a killer smile, beautiful blue eyes, and, living up to his name, Alexander "Friend to Man", had a huge heart for others. He was loved by many, and loved many, and had a multitude of friends from coast to coast. To say that "he will be missed" is vastly understated. Alex, was, and is, loved, not only by his family, but by a huge number of friends and acquaintances.

GOD BE WITH YOU, OUR DEAR SON
