Our deepest condolences from everyone at Yale University Athletics.

A couple years ago Colin and I and four dogs were in your back yard. Above and circling, three or four hawks swooped and cried, riding the thermals up and down above us. We looked at each other and were silent. The wind was wild and the hawks were both menacing and beautiful. We watched for a while and I remember thinking that there were very few young men who would have had the depth to contemplate, let alone to understand the power of that encounter. In my mind, Colin will always be there, silently watching and understanding -- a compassionate, somehow wise and thoughtful soul.
