Connie Chavez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 7, 2018.

Connie Amada Carrillo Chavez entered Heaven's gates at 11:57 pm on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from Palo Alto, CA. Connie was born on April 30, 1946 in Bakersfield, CA. She grew up in Selma until she met the love of her life and married Carlos Chavez, Jr. on March 8, 1962. She moved to Fresno and raised a beautiful family until the love of her life and her loving son welcomed her home to Heaven.

Connie dedicated her life to family and to helping others which was exhibited by her work at the Fresno Convalescent Hospital. Her life's passion was in devoting her life to her family as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a woman of strong faith and a devout Catholic who kept everyone in her prayers. She was an inspiration to us all with her loving and beautiful soul who was always eager to help anyone in need. Her magnetic personality and gentle nature constantly drew others to her not only to take part in her caring and witty personality, but to also tell her their life story. Her charisma and wonderful smile could light up a room. She always found time to talk to everyone with nurturing, attentiveness and a genuine interest in their life. She always found the pleasant side and kindness in others. She had an uncanny ability to glimpse into others' souls and know exactly what they were thinking or needed whether it be a hand, a hug, or just a kind word. She was loved by many and was a mother and grandmother to all. Connie's charming, quick wit and loving nature will be forever missed.

Connie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Carlos Chavez, Jr.; loving son, Carlos Chavez, III; and several siblings.

She is survived by her daughter, Cruz Turner and her husband Brett; daughter, Carol Chavez, grandchildren Consuelo, Christina, Cassandra, Corina, and Brandon; four great-grandchildren; brother Armando Estrada; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm followed by the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm.
