Our family chef, Connie Livingston Fairbanks, passed away, April 11, 2006. Our much-loved Mother, Grandmother, and Friend was born, May 18, 1924 to Heber and Mary Jane Oldroyd Livingston in Fountain Green, Utah. Mom's early childhood memories were spending time with her Dad at the sheep camps in the mountains. She began her education in Springville. After graduation from Provo High, Mom was one of the first high school graduates hired at Geneva Steel.
Mom enjoyed the time she served in the US Navy, and was passionate about our Country, and freedom's that we all enjoy. She loved to observe the bands playing patriotic songs in the Onion Day parades.
Mom married William P. (Bill) Fairbanks, November 15, 1946 in Las Vegas Nevada. She and Dad enjoyed dancing at every opportunity even in the kitchen. Together they reared four wonderful children. Teri, Craig, Shellie and Dixon. Mom played a special role in all of her children's lives, and will be greatly missed. She also enjoyed her position as Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother to many. Mom's eyes lit up at the sight of her loved ones accomplishments, weather it be graduations, ball games, dance performances, art work or simple songs preformed. She always enjoyed preparing for and participating in horse rides and hunting trips.
Mom enjoyed showing affection for those she loved through sharing her cooking, bread making, canning, needlepoint and sewing. She was particularly passionate about spring time, whether it was the new blooms, greening mountains, or lambing season, all of which she could observe from her kitchen window every year. Mom had a keen eye for antiques, and had a wonderful ability to display them in an elegant manner.
Mom is survived by her children, Teri (Keith) Wilson, Alpine, UT, Shellie Kirk, Casper, WY, and Dixon Fairbanks, Payson, UT and special long time family members Rocky Kirk, Casper, WY, and Julie Olson, Payson, UT, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grand children, two sisters, Faun Reynolds of Layton, UT and Leslye Miller of San Jose, CA.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband Bill in 1976, son Craig in 1972, granddaughter Melissa Wilson in 1995, her parents, one brother and two sisters.
A gathering of family and friends for visiting and sharing memories will be held Saturday, April 15, 2006, at Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson from 12:00 to 1:00 with a graveside service at 1:30 at the Payson City Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion, District 4.
A heart felt thank you goes to the doctors, nurses, nurse assistants and staff at Mtn. View Hospital. A loving thank you to Mom's special friends Bonnie and Liz and the physical therapy team.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.walkerfamilymortuary.com

Dixon & family, we are sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. May the good Lord bless each of you throughout this trying time. It is hard to let your mother go. She was the foundation of your family and after your mother leaves it is hard to keep that foundation intack. May each of you keep each other in your hearts. It's hard to loose the family relationship. We will keep you in our prayers.
