Connor Toth Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from May 1 to May 3, 2008.
TOTH _ Connor May 26, 1990 - April 28, 2008 It is with the saddest of hearts that we announce the passing of our son, brother and friend Connor Nicholas Toth, beloved son of Deborah Godfrey, on Monday, April 28, 2008 at the age of 17 years. Connor came peacefully into this world on Saturday, May 26, 1990 in Richmond, BC. He was a beautiful boy, loved to snuggle and charmed everyone who held him. At the age of three, Connor, his mom and his sister, moved to Calgary and made it their home. He attended Hawkwood Elementary, Jerry Potts, Senator Patrick Burns Junior High School and William Aberhart High School where he completed grade twelve and will receive his diploma. Connor was active in many charities, canvassing for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, participating in the Terry Fox Run, The Snow Express for MS, The CIBC Run for the Cure, to name a few. He was involved in the Scouting program, played hockey in the Crowfoot league for years, even winning the city championship in 2002. He loved to play tennis and his real passion was snowboarding at Sunshine Village. Connor loved so many people, especially his big sister Carolyn. Keeping his memory alive is his mother Deborah Godfrey; his devoted sister Carolyn Toth; his grandma; and aunts, uncles, cousins, teachers and friends from around the world. Connor's spirit is free and will continue to live with all of us every day. The family asks that you take time out of every day to hug someone you love and let them know how much they mean to you. A Celebration of Connor's Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) today, May 3, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. Connor's cremated remains will be laid to final rest in Toronto with those of his beloved granddad, Terry Godfrey, who passed away seven years ago. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com . In living memory of Connor Toth, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Crowfoot Chapel, 82 CROWFOOT CIRCLE N.W. Telephone: 403-241-0044.

I met Connor on Nexopia two years ago.
I went to leave him a 'Happy Birthday' message today.
My suspicions were aroused by the messages left by other people.
My greatest fears were confirmed when I found this obit.
I feel so empty inside right now over someone I never even met.
I can't image how his parents and family feel.
Connor was a really nice guy.
That's all that counts, right?

We were sad to hear the news about Connor, he is such a great kid. We will always remember the fun that we had with everyone on the hockey teams with Paul, Chris and Ryan and at school over the years.

He has touched so many people that I know. He has found his peace and will live on in each of us and remind us of the good we all can do each day.

We are always here for you.

“No one who has been loved is ever lost, for memories live on forever in the heart.” No perfect words can be offered when such a cherished loved one leaves. When someone we love is gone, they leave a space in our heart that seems impossible to fill. The hurt seems like it will last forever as we struggle to come to terms with not seeing them each day, to talk, to laugh, to hug and to share our lives. Our lives are like a huge puzzle that is composed of multiple pieces. Those puzzle pieces are the people who are such an important part of our lives. When one of those puzzle pieces is lost, the whole puzzle that we each are is affected and it seems to be impossible that the missing piece will ever stop affecting how we look at life. The empty space stands out, changing how we perceive the world and our place in it. Then slowly, with the gift of time, and the company of others, we begin to recall fond memories of our lost one. We smile at the stories, we recall the shared experiences, we make wishes about where they would be in the future, and we remember what we did together, and how much we miss them now. Connor is one of those puzzle pieces and he leaves such a large, empty space in grieving hearts. May cherished memories of Connor’s love, laughter and the love you so whole heartedly returned, allow you to fill in that empty space, even just a little. We pray the memories surround you with comfort and wrap you in warmth. With our deepest sympathy.

To the Family of Connor Toth,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss, I recently lost my 18 year old daughter in a car accident. (March 21, 2008) Nicole Lachapelle attended William Aberhart and they probably knew each other. I am her mother and can feel your pain, they are both at peace in heaven. I struggle everyday, I miss her so much.

It is with great sadness that we learned of Connor's passing.
My son (Zak) and Connor were friends and used to have great fun running around the neighborhood when they were little.
Connor stayed over at our house many times and was always a lovely little boy. It is a great loss for everyone who knew him.
Our thoughts are with you and your daughter during this time of heartbreak. His spirit will live on in all things beautiful.... birds, sunshine and flowers in bloom.
Rest in peace Connor!
