Conor Morgan Boone - July 29, 1994-August 27, 2025
Our beautiful, kind, funny, considerate, hard-working, smart, curious son, Conor Morgan Boone, dropped his earthly robe Wednesday, August 27, 2025. He was working underneath a car in his driveway and the jack failed, causing the car to come down on him.
Conor was born to Craig Miller and Ann Elizabeth (Willson) Boone on July 29, 1994, in
Lexington, Kentucky.
From a very young age, he was fascinated with how things worked. This fascination led him to be prolific in taking apart and fixing just about anything he put his mind to learning about. Keeping his curious, amazing mind busy was a challenge for many, especially his parents.
He attended Community Montessori School from 3-11 years old, Lexington Traditional Magnet Middle School (LTMS) and Henry Clay High School (HCHS). He was in the Jazz Band at both LTMS and HCHS, where he played the electric bass. He graduated from The Learning Center at Linlee, where he attended the last two years of senior high school. He thrived in this smaller environment with innovative ways of teaching, which appealed to Conor's intellect. The Innovation lab and Recording studios were named after him when he graduated as he helped to set them up. He was a talented musician, playing piano, guitar, drums, bass guitar and a variety of other instruments. His main love was the bass guitar, which he mastered.
He was a member of St. Raphael's Episcopal Church (Lexington) where he traveled to Belize with his youth group when he was 15. He found this was a transformational trip. Living with and learning about other cultures always interested Conor and gave him perspective.
After high school, he worked as an automotive service technician at a variety of garages shops including: Eurowerks, Import Auto Specialists, Don Franklin Auto Mall and, his most recent job, at European Auto Livery. He had much gratitude for all he learned and the friendships he made at each of these businesses. Anyone who knew Conor and cars knew one didn't ask him twice to describe the complicated workings of engines and all things automotive. He also prided himself on being able to complete jobs quickly and efficiently.
Although cars dominated as one of his primary passions, being out in nature is where his heart thrived. Conor developed a love of nature, the outdoors and camping from his father, Boy Scouts and spending his summers and weekends growing up roaming his grandparent's Thoroughbred horse farm, Boonesborough, in
Lexington, Kentucky. His voracious quest for knowledge of historical sites around Kentucky and neighboring states had him driving and hiking with friends game enough to keep up with him. There were few weekends that he didn't camp or at least visit these sites and soak in all the information possible so that he could take family and friends along with a narrative of each site that would make any historian proud.
He is survived by his parents, Craig and Ann Boone and sister, Bryana Elizabeth Boone, (Lexington), his girlfriend, Barbie Filburn (Winchester), Uncle Bryan Lewis Boone (Connie), Cousins Harmony Willson (Buck), Brittany Willson, Cameron Boone, Caroline Boone Morrow (Tristen) and Charles Boone, great aunt Lucille Limoges and numerous other relatives in California, Kentucky and Vermont. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, H. Michael Willson (Shirley), Shirley Herrmann (Stanley) and Charles M. "C.M." Boone (Lois).
He also leaves behind a large network of dear friends and colleagues, all of whom will miss his humor, wit and thirst for knowledge and adventure. He had a love of animals, especially for his cat, Portland. Conor was fortunate to be able to horseback ride throughout his life as well.
A Celebration of Life for Conor will be held at Boonesborough Farm, 4550 Newtown Pike,
Lexington, KY at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Please carpool and bring a chair. Contact Ann Boone at (859)333-9354 if you have any questions.
