Dear Miriam, Leah, and my old friend Ralph,
I was so very sorry to hear about the loss of Conrad. What a truly gentle and decent human being he was. I have the fondest memories of him and I know you all are dealing with a very difficult and sad loss.
I used to enjoy very much going over to Ralph's house as a kid. Hey, I remember the house on Noel street in St Laurent! Showing my age there a bit, of course. Conrad always had a way of making me feel very welcome there (as did Miriam, of course).
I remember when I was around 10 years old or so, I was invited by you guys to go visit Ralph up at the cottage (not sure if you owned it or were renting it for the summer). For whatever reason, I went up alone with Conrad (I think Ralph was already there). I remember we were listening to the ballgame, just chatting about life and school. He seemed to take a real interest in me, who I was, what I liked. The time flew by. I remember that made a very big impression on me. He just had a very easy manner and way about him.
I am thinking of ALL of you at this very difficult time.
Fondly Always,
Andy Cherniak
