Conrado Garza Martinez, 87, passed away to be with the Lord on October 26, 2016. He was born on February 18, 1937 in El Brasilal, Nuevo León, Mexico to Fructuoso and Olivia Garza. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Belen Consuelo and his children Luis Rey (Sylvia), Urbano (Lorena), Maria Guadalupe (Arturo Villaseñor), Graciela (Jose de Jesus Villaseñor), Conrado, Jr. (Rosalba), Gerardo (Cecilia), Guilma Lorenna, and Juan Jose (Rebecca).
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Luis Rey, Jr. (Karionne), Erika Ernestina (Peter Hoag), Alexandro (Corey), Miriam (Armando), Conrado (Mari), Ernestina, Urbano, Viridiana (Fabian Garza), Evelyn, Yannira Li (Artemio), Yanneli Aimee (Issac), Arely Lupina, Arturo, JR., Dannick Graciela (Elias Hernandez), Annika Lamar (Adam Nahhas), Brianna Vianey, Frank Leal, Jr. (Melissa), Stephanie Lauren, Brittanie Leann, Conrado III, Patricio Alejandro, Daniela Anahí, Christian Naím, Jayda Nicole and Jaycob Jayce.
As well as his great-grandchildren: Easton, Kaia, Issac, Isabella, Eva Maria, Cain Alexander, Briana, Lauren, Emiliano, Omar, Fabian Jr., Diana, Jesus Issac, Ian Alejandro, Charlotte Elise, Joshua James, and Jake David.
Conrado was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Elida Cantú, his brother, Gregorio, and his first wife, Ernestina.
From his early years, Conrado took to farming and ranching. It not only was his livelihood but his also life's passion. He passed down to his children his love of agriculture as well as his countless tall-tales, tongue twisters, family sayings, and his love of a good joke. He valued hard work, persistence, and most of all, his family. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend his viewing at Funeraria Del Angel Highland Funeral Home from 1 – 9 pm on Friday, October 28, 2016 with Rosary beginning at 7pm. The mass will commence at 10 am on Saturday, October 29, 1016 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Funeral services arrangements are under the direction of Funeraria Del Angel Funeral Home of Weslaco, Texas.
