Constance (Connie) Evelyn Morse

Connie Evelyn Morse, 86 went home to be with the lord on Friday, June 13, 2025. She passed away peacefully at Marshall's Healthcare in Machias. Connie was born on December 3, 1938 in Kennebec, Maine.

Connie attended school in Machiasport and at Washington Academy. She received her GED in 1976, while being a single mother and raising seven children.

Connie was a member of the American Legion Post 9 of Machias for over 50 years. Connie had many jobs throughout her life: she packed fish in the Machiasport fish factory, waitressed and cooked at the old Helen's on Main Street in Machias, cooked at Joyce's Lobster House in East Machias, she cooked for 14 years at the White House in Jonesboro, she cooked at Moore's Take Out in Machias, she was a Dietary Aid at Downeast Community Hospital, she made wreaths at Hanscom's, she was a tax assessor for Machiasport, she worked at Dunkin Donuts when it came to Machias, and Maine Wild Bluebery when they first opened in Machias. Her last job before her first stroke was evening desk clerk at Machias Motor Inn. She worked 2 jobs in most of her early years.

Connie is survived by her son Owen Moody and wife Lena of Roque Bluff, her son Dennis Moody and wife Rita of Larrabee, her daughter Lorraine Moody of New Hampshire, her daughter Linda Morse and Frank Wood of Marshfield, daughter in law Cathy Barrett Morse of Kennebec, and daughter Vanessa Sprague and husband Peter of Machiasport. She is survived by her brother Lester Morse Sr and wife Joann of Wiscasset. A sister Rebecca Caruso and husband Al of Jonesboro. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, many great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Connie was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Curt and Angie Kilton Morse of Kennebec. Her maternal grandparents Alfred and Florence Small Hicks of Eastport. Her parents Augustus and Emeline Morse of Machiasport. A sister Florence Phillips and brother-in-law Michael Phillips. A brother in law Donald Hildreth. Her brother Curtis Lee Morse. Her two sons Jerry Moody and Phillip Morse. Grandsons Shaun Moody and Allen Field.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday August 23 at 11:00 AM at Elm Street School in East Machias, with Pastor Tony Maker officiating.
