A very late addition....but she was a real shining light for me and all my classmates back in Sharon Intermediate School back in around 1970 and after being such a great presence in my life went on to teach my nephew 25 years later in Easton.
Miss Mamas with her "star" pupil Jody Fouss; Columbus, Ohio spring 1968.

Miss Mamas was my FAVORITE teacher. She was my 4th grade teacher at Cranbrook Elementary in Columbus, Ohio. I only a few days ago was connected to old classmates through a Facebook group. We were talking about our teachers and I posted some pictures I had taken (as a 9 year-old) of Miss Mamas. I decided to try and look her up on the internet thinking perhaps she was on Facebook. I was sadden to learn of her passing last year. I have no doubt that you have heard stories of how wonderful a teacher and person she was, but I thought you might like to hear from someone that knew her as Miss Mamas. I'm so sorry for the loss felt by all whose lives she touched. I know this is over a year old, but I'm hoping her children see this.

Bill, I am so sorry to hear of Connie's passing. I had gotten to know her through Mrs. Bernstein, who is my neighbor. The three of us had many pleasant onversations in the parking lot, when Connie came to pick up Mrs. Bernstein. I enjoyed knowing her very much. My sympathy to you and your beautiful family.
Sincerely, Stephen Hagan (CHS '58) (Dr. Hagan's son)

Mrs. Pozzo was a wonderful woman and a great teacher. She was the most important teacher in my education. Her loves of teaching us about history, reading mythology and writing reports about animals were a part of what inspired me to go into education. Our class would look forward to reading from her book of mythology even more than recess. I am sure I am just one of an incredible amount of people that she impacted in a positive way. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Her death is so shocking and many hearts are broken for those who will miss her most. I am deeply sorry for this great loss. Know that she will be remembered by so many in the coming months and years ahead, and we will be better human beings because of her example of how to treat eachother. God bless you.

We were so grateful that our son Patrick had Mrs. Pozzo as his 3rd grade teacher. She loved children and instilled in them a love of learning along with nurturing their natural curiosity about the world. She understood children so well. My son is 26 and everytime my husband and I would see her around town (either at the Post Office, Cosi or the Sheep Pasture), she would ask for him by name. How remarkable is that? Her smile and warm spirit warmed the world. I am just so sad that I won't be able to see her beautiful smile. What a lovely lady she was. With our deepest sympathies, the McKenna Family

Connie was love personified. Our hearts go out to Bill, Suzanne, Laurie, Mark and their families. Connie's mystical connection with children and colleagues, the convictions and efforts for which she strived, and the passion and sensitivity by which she lived will endure and be honored by all who loved her. Our daughter Marianna was one of her joyous students, and I was blessed to be touched by Connie both personally and professionally through Church, family, and school. Her friendship, warmth, and giving spirit over the years I will cherish. May her memory be eternal.

Mrs. Pozzo must have been a wonderful person if her daughter Suzanne is at all like her. Suzanne is a gem in her own right and has become a trusted family supporter and friend through her kindnesses at the Wayland Middle School. My family's best wishes and condolences extend to the entire family at this time of deep loss.

Not only was Connie a wonderful next door neighbor but I was also lucky enough to have her be a teacher to my sons... Of course years later. I was so saddened to hear of her passing but very lucky to have had her in our lives. I am hoping for peace for her family knowing that she is in a better place.

Connie was the first person in the neighborhood to welcome us when we moved to Heritage Drive. She made us feel most welcome to Easton and joked that she was happy to have another Greek family in the neighborhood. Reading all of the wonderful stories about her, I realize how fortunate we were to know her. I always enjoyed chatting with her and hearing about her wonderful grandchildren. I am sincerely sorry for your loss.

Connie was a truly great educator - and person! She inspired her students to take a leap to the next level without fear of failure. She was a mentor to her students and fellow educators. We were so fortunate to have been touched by her spirit!!
Thank you for sharing her with us.

Connie Pozzo was one of the best teachers there was. Connie was so caring, and made each and every child feel special and good about themselves. My son Brad had her in third grade. Connie came to Brad's high school graduation party and gave him a Boston Celtics blanket which he still has today. She was very special and will be missed.

Mrs. Pozzo was the best. I have never been a school-type but it is with great confidence that I always remember 3rd grade as my favorite year. The way she referred to oranges as "vitamin C balls" and how she let us take our shoes off after recess were the absolute coolest things to me back then. Mrs. Pozzo had this poster in her classroom that I loved and I would always ask her, "When you retire, can I pleaseeee have that?" When the day came, Mrs. Pozzo came interrupting my class at Richardson mid-day, announcing that she had a gift for me. I felt so special! She was cleaning out her classroom to retire and made the trip to my new school to keep her promise. That's how Mrs. Pozzo was. She made every child feel so important. Her genuine spirit gave light to all those she touched. My deepest condolences to her family.

Mrs. Pozzo with always be remembered and loved by our family as a teacher who connected with the heart and soul of her young students and their families. She knew what was important and she lived it in the classroom. I have been and forever will be grateful for the positive experience she gave the children of Easton, including my daughter. Blessings of Peace and Love to her family,

I heart goes out to the Pozzo family. "Mrs. Po", as we affectionately called her, was one of the sweetest and nicest teachers I have ever met, and I didn't even have her! (my sister did :) ! Some of my fondest neighborhood memories are of walking up Heritage Drive to visit Mrs. Po, and seeing her smiling face when the 3 Berman girls would barge in on her personal time. She would always invite us in for a chat and we never thought twice about coming back as soon as we felt like it. Now, as a teacher myself, I laugh at the thought of my students coming to visit me after school hours. She made everyone she knew feel very special and loved. Thanks for your incredible warmth throughout our childhood, Mrs Po!

Connie you will be seriously missed in this community. Your ability to inspire the children in your classroom with your positive 'can do' attitude was incredible. Heartbroken to hear Connie is gone even though I had not seen her in some time. Sarah was very fortunate to have been in her class, and I was lucky to work with her at NRT (where she once got me through a medical emergency!). My deepest sympathy to all who were close to her.

I was blessed to work with Connie for many years. She was one of the most devoted, creative and enthusiastic teachers I have known. Her caring and dedication for her students was remarkable. She had such an infectious passion for life. I know her family was so important to her. Her pride shown through whenever she spoke about them. But mostly her grandchildren filled her life with such love. She will be missed by many, but we are all left with wonderful memories. My deepest sympathies to the family.

We were saddened to hear of Mrs. Pozzo's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Connie was a wonderfully enthusiastic, kind, loving teacher. She was our son Michael's 3rd grade teacher and I volunteered in her classroom. She was so wonderful that I wished I had her as a teacher! She was the perfect teacher for 8 year olds, finding joy in her students each day, guiding them with a loving spirit. Her eyes twinkled, her smile brightened each day. I hoped she'd be at Parkview for our youngest, but she retired and when I asked her why so soon...she said, "I want to spend time with my grand babies!" I am sure those years were so special for Connie and her family. May all your memories of your wonderful Connie comfort you. She has touched innumerable lives. A favorite quote says, "A teacher touches eternity." Connie certainly has. God bless you all.

Connie Pozo--a pleasure to know; warm, thoughtful and kind but most of all she exuded joy. When we think of her, that bright beautiful smile fills the room. I had the pleasure of working with Connie in our church group some years ago and recently reconnected to once again experience her enthusiastic lust for life. We are shocked and saddened by her passing, but know that her spirit lives on in all of her loving family. Deepest sympathy and love, Chris and Pauline Rassias

Connie is worthy of all the accolades on her behalf....a very special person indeed to thousands of folks.
As a former colleague at Parkview School, I was greatly influenced by her love of teaching and her students. By her common sense approach to the global and detailed important parts of education. She was an inspirational mentor who didn't realize she was mentoring. She will never be forgotten. You are loved, Connie Pozzo and will always be remembered!
