Constantine T "Gus" Klonis

Gus was a wonderful friend , husband , and dog dad ! I got to spend 2 years getting to know him and Dorene and the love grew stronger each week . He was my guy.

I am a good friend of Gus's wife and because friends with him as well. Will I always remember going to the Bay and hanging out. Gus will be missed.

Gus´s Klonis was my oldest friend. We met for the first time in front of the library at 15th & Perkiomen Avenue when we were 11 years old. We walked to Southern Jr. High and Reading High most days together. He drove me to the train station when I left Reading to join the military, and his father, Thomas, taught me how to play golf. In our adult life, despite the miles between us, we stayed in touch and remained close.

I am grateful that I was able to see Gus in both March and May this year while back in PA on business. In March we talked about our youth, life, sports, successes, regrets, and the love and pride he held for his wife, children, siblings and friends. He also recalled with laughter the visit he made to my home in Sunset Beach, CA, the fond memories of the golf trips we took together at Pebble Beach, CA. and Doral CC in FL, and may of the other good times we shared.

In May, I briefly visited with Gus and Dorene, and when I got up to leave we hugged, and perhaps knowing it was the last time we would see each other, I told him that I loved him. He graciously said the same. I will always remember and cherish these visits with my dear friend, and that we had the chance to say goodbye.

Gus, was a proud, strong, stubborn, and complicated man. He was also a loyal, loving, and good man at his core who loved life. He loved all Philadelphia sports, and was always the kind of guy you could count on when the chips were down. He was particularly proud of his career in law enforcement and the many friends he had the privilege to have served with.

As I look back, the Klonis family played a big part in providing me with a good measure of stability my younger years. Thomas, Dottie, Gus and Teddy were like my extended family. They were a strong, loving family in the strongest of the Greek tradition. I am forever grateful for having known them, and extend to all my deepest condolences.

Rest in Peace, Gus. Thank you for a lifetime of friendship and caring. You left nothing on the table, you always lived life on your terms, and will be sorely missed.

I've know Gus since him and Doreen married. He was always so kind, loving, funny and me and him very flirty in an innocent way. I'm gonna miss you my sexy hunk of a man. RIP LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU ALREADY

Childhood friends, Gus and his siblings grew up very near me and he was such a sweet kid. I remember chatting often with him and his sister, Theodora, as well as playing tah and hide and seek near our adjoining alley. All the kids in the neighborhood were close and I have wonderful memories of them. So sorry he has passed. May his memory be a blessing to those who knew and loved him.

Gus and I, grew up in Reading, Pa, we were good friends and I also enjoyed the company of his beautiful sister Teddy. We did not see each other for a long time after graduation, until he met my then sister in law Lindy. When Gus needed to find work, I introduce him to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, which became his life's work until he retired. I am sorry he is no longer with us. He was a good man.
