Consuelo Montemayor Crown Point, IN Consuelo "Connie" Montemayor (nee Villalpando), age 67, of Crown Point, IN, formerly of East Chicago, IN, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Southlake Methodist Hospital in Merrillville, IN. She is survived by three children: Ruben Montemayor, Jr. of East Chicago, Veronica Montemayor of East Chicago and Sandra (Michael) Navejas of Crown Point, IN; two grandchildren: Andrea and Rebecca Montemayor; five brothers and sisters: Esther (late Epifanio) Ortiz of East Chicago, IN, Ruben (Sara) Murillo of Hobart, IN, Isaac (Mary) Villalpando, Jr. of Hammond, IN, Socorro (Severo) Ruiz of East Chicago, IN and Josephine Lopez of Joliet, IL; sister-in-law, Rose (late Jesse) Villalpando of Griffith, IN; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents: Isaac and Mary Villalpando; son, Mark Montemayor; granddaughter, Maria Montemayor; and brother, Jesse Villalpando. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. from the Fife Funeral Home, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN and an 11:00 a.m. Mass at St. Mary Church in East Chicago, IN with Rev. Stephen Gibson officiating. Burial at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary, IN. Visitation at the Fife Funeral home will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday. Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Friday. Connie was a former bilingual para-professional for the City of East Chicago. She was a former Indiana State driver examiner and a former clerk at Sav-on Pharmacy. She was a former member of the Republican Women's Club, former PTA member at McKinley Elementary School, a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, a former member of the Immaculate Conception Church in East Chicago, IN and a lifelong resident of East Chicago, IN. Connie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

I had the honor of knowing Connie, she always welcomed everyone into her home. She was such a great person whose eyes always sparkled with youth and love for her family.
