Add memories that will last forever

Not sure what to say?

It was so hard for me to hear from a distance that Uncle Cordell had passed away. He was one of the best men I knew and I feel so sad for his family; Brenda, Robert and Angie, and all the grandchildren. I know we'll all see each other again in the world to come. I couldn't come to the funeral being hundreds of miles away, but I was there in spirit and heart with Cordell's family as they lay him down to rest. I have so many fond memories of Cordell, he was only a few years older than me and we spent a lot of time around each other as we grew up. I'll always think of him and of the times we shared together--he was a giant of a man with an equally big heart and I loved him!

Angie, Brenda,Robert, and Jason, I am so sorry to learn of Cordell's passing. He was a wonderful, funny, smart, hardworking man. He treated me like his own child . I remember being scared of him at first with that big booming voice. Ended up he shaped my idea of what a man and husband should be. He had a big generous heart and a smile and laugh to match. I know you are hurting now but he will be forever with you. I loved him and I love you guys. You are in my heart, thoughts, and prayers. Julie Redson l

Cordell was a devoted husband for 49 years to Brenda Ford.
He was a fantastic father to Robert Ford, Angela Ford-Graham, and Jason Graham. And he was an even better Paw-Paw to Erin, Brian and Kelly Graham.

There will always be a void in our house, but he will always be in our hearts.

I guess I am a guest of sorts, though Cordell always treated me as a son. I could say that his death created a hole, but in truth, his life filled a hole. We will miss him is an understatement. My family and I deeply appreciate everyone's prayers and heart felt condolences, gestures, comments, posts, and hugs. I will forever be grateful to Cordell for not only all he has done for me directly and indirectly, but for giving me the most wonderful wife a man could ask for and being a large part of making her the amazing woman she is.

Dear Angela and Family: I am so honored I got to meet your father. Your father and mother have been so blessed with a wonderful family they created and nourished each day with fun, wisdom and comfort. He is taken too soon from those who loved him so dearly; but memories will always be there to remember sayings, laugh at moments, and have peace always knowing he is looking over all of you.
Love, Carol Merrill

My Daddy was truly an amazing man. He taught me so many things. He would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. He drove a truck for most of my childhood but he would come to every softball game to watch me play no matter how tired he was. He taught me to say what I mean and mean what I say. To show respect in order to earn respect. And if you asked someone for help you worked harder than they did and you didn't stop until they did. He taught be how to put out fires! There wasn't a house he owned since I was born that he didn't set the yard on fire or the house on fire! He taught me aerosol cans make fantastic explosions. He taught me to stand up for myself b/c if I didn't why should any one else do it for me. Against what his co-workers said about sending their daughter's to college my dad said well it's a good thing she isn't your daughter and that I had the guts to try so I was going to have that opportunity to try. He worked 3 jobs sometimes to make sure we had what we needed. He taught me men do not hit women and women do not hit men- and God help you if he saw a man hit a woman. You had to do the right thing even if it meant digging dirt for 5 hours +b/c you were 13 years old earing $50 for doing it...I had to give at least 5-10 hours every weekend to shoveling dirt out from under the trucks in the truck yard where he worked to earn that $50 I couldn't cut out early EVER! He was an incredible man!
