COREY KEITH BATES
ROWLAND — On April 5, 2022, Corey Keith Bates, 25, met his maternal grandmother, Bernice Revels, for the first time in heaven.
Corey, who resided in Rowland, passed away unexpectedly in Casa Grande, Arizona.
Corey is survived by his daughter, Alyjah Bates; mother, Anita Delphine (Revels) Fijalka; sister, Johannah (Justin) of Colorado; brother, Jeffery (David) of California; girlfriend, Kalli Spade of Arizona; two special aunts, Virginia Joyce Revels, and Millie G. Jones, both of Rowland; uncle, Charles Revels of West Virginia; numerous cousins; and many close friends who were like family to him.
Corey was an exceptionally loving person. He was known for his quick wit, and his kind and compassionate spirit. His beautiful smile warmed the hearts of those he met. He had an unconditional love for mankind; he touched everybody's lives and made it a point to make all those he encountered feel so important and special. He showed up when it mattered, had your back, gave to those in need, and often pondered the sorrows and wrongs in the world.
Corey had a love for football (Patriots), old trucks, and nature, whether walking on the beach, hiking in the woods, or watching PBS nature shows. The loss of his physical presence from our lives is devasting, but the warmth of his hugs and smiles will live on forever.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Boles Funeral Home in Rowland.

It's been a year since I lost you and it hurts just as much as it did a year ago. Miss you so much. Love you forever.

It has been six months today since you last told me you loved me; I miss so very much. No other hug can take the place of your hug. Love you forever. Mom
