Corey Simpson Obituary
Corey was born on December 9, 1977 in Somerset, KY to Jerry Simpson and Cheryl Carter Simpson. He was a 1996 graduate of Madison Southern High School where he was drafted to play baseball for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He later went on to play for Cowley Junior College and Union College. Corey was a former employee of Toyota of Georgetown.
He is survived by his father, Jerry Simpson of Celina, TN; and two brothers, Jeremy Simpson of Somerset, KY and Chris Simpson of Richmond, KY.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Cheryl Carter Simpson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 5:00 PM at Madison Southern High School in Berea, KY.

So sorry for the passing of Corey . Haven't seen him in years . But remember him well . Such a good baseball pitcher !Remember his Grandma sitting on the hill at the park watching her grandboys play ball .I remember his kind Mother . Love and prayers for the family .

Ions of the great honors in life is the opportunity to serve others. For 12 years I served as the sports chaplain at Union College in Barbourvills, Ky., where Corey played out his collegiate baseball career.
His passing causes me to reflect on hundreds of moment in which he'd cause one to smile, laugh gaining the best out of life and friendship. I took him to the hospital in Nashville, Tn., from a game when he learned he was a diabetic. It may seem crazy to share that experience but we had a lot of fun even though it was scary moment too. He told me, "Preacher, get me out of here a 100 times while we told stories and laughter imagining the stories we could make up". Life is about memories and he was a friend to his teammates at every level.
