GREENSBORO — . Cornelia (Connie) Yeager Ivey, 85, died December 15, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

A service of celebration will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2009 at W. Market Street United Methodist Church.

Connie was born in Albemarle, NC and was the daughter of Helen Biles and Abe Austin Yeager. She graduated from Duke University and dedicated her time and energy to her adoring family and church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Ivey, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Ivey Bacigal and husband Ron; son, Charles M. Ivey, III and wife Kay; grandchildren, Austin L. Kane, R. Scott Bacigal, Wesley J. Bacigal, Marla B. Schowalter, Charles Ivey, IV, Edward Ivey, Austin Ivey; great grandson James Edward Kane, IV; and great grandchildren, Grant, Peyton, and Emmy Schowalter.

Memorials may be made to W. Market Street United Methodist Church, 302 W. Market St., Greensboro, NC 27401 or to Duke University Comprehensive Cancer Center, 2424 Erwin Rd., Durham, NC 27705.

The family will meet with friends at 1111 Latham Rd., Thursday, 6 until 8 p.m. and in the Gathering Space at the Church following the service.

Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Funeral Home is assisting the family.
