Passed away Sunday afternoon, December 15, 2002 at the age of 91 in Bronson Hospital from complications resulting from a heart attack. Katie was born September 16, 1911 in Krabbendijke, The Netherlands, to Thomas and Anna (Hoogerheide) Luteyn. Her parents moved to America to Kenosha, WI, when she was three, and later relocated to Kalamazoo when she was seven. She was a member of the Netherlands Reformed Congregation. Her interests included sewing, crocheting, crafts, family activities, dining out and enjoying her sunny porch. On July 3, 1936 she was united in marriage to Abraham Stryd, who preceded her in death on October 31, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Elias (Louise) and Abraham Luteyn; four sisters, Tona (Garret) Van-Gemert, Frances (Dick) Pruim, Helena (Roy) Clark, and infant Cornelia Luteyn; and a grandson, Jonathan Stryd; two brothers-in-law, Martin (Anna) Stryd and Peter (Angeline) Stryd; and three sisters-in-law, Catherine Stryd, Maatje (Marinus) Meeuwse, and Martha (Albert) Sikkema. Surviving are three sons and their wives, Jack and Anna Stryd, Thomas and Nancy Stryd, Ronald and Sharon Stryd; five grandsons, Scott (Megan), Todd, Jason, Eric and Steven Stryd; two great-grandchil-dren, Josiah and Elizabeth; a special friend, Jan Visser and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the

Aunt "Cornie" was Special! Everyone needs a special Aunt that never forgets your birthday and was fun to visit. I will always have fond memories of her. We would like to express our sympathy to Jack, Tom and Ron and their families. Remembering you all in our prayers.
