Cory Sonner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 4, 2005.
Cory Edward Sonner OGDEN - Cory Edward Sonner our beloved son and brother died in Bellingham, Washington, in a shooting three days before his 28th birthday. Cory was born in Rocksprings, Wyoming, on January 2, 1977 to Randy K. and Kim Widmeyer Sonner. He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1995. He was fun loving and lived life to the fullest. Cory had a big heart and a great sense of humor. He made friends easily where ever he went. He was a welder and it seemed to come easy for him. He was always looking for new challenges. He made the decision to go to the northern coast to be near the ocean and continue his welding talents on the ships there. Cory lived in the harbor on his sailboat. He had opportunities to go "crabbing" and "shrimping" which he dearly loved. He loved to go biking into the mountains where he felt closer to Jesus there. He loved nature and all animals. He had a dog that he rescued from the shelter and "Kosar" became a beloved pet. Cory is survived by his mo ther Kim Sonner of South Ogden; his father and stepmother Randy and Tami Sonner of Ogden; his sister Casey (Troy) Hamilton; his niece, Rilie; his nephew, Tory; his stepsister, Amy; his stepbrothers, Jeremy, Russell and Austin; his grandmother Lillian Sonner; Grandpa Bus and Larae Widmeyer, and many other special people in his life. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Edward Sonner and his grandmother Kaye Cales with whom he had a special and close bond. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 7, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Friends may call at Leavitt's on Thursday, January 6, from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Friday, one hour prior to services. Interment at Washington Heights Memorial Park.
