Since we never knew our grandparents on the “Wright” side, I looked upon Uncle Coy as the patriarch for the family. A visit to their house included the chicken hatchery with Aunt Velma hard at work in “that cold room” and Uncle Coy walking the hen house or taking us for a ride in the cow pasture in his truck, with the pistol on the dash for snakes. They often welcomed us to their home and also their camper where “roughing it” meant a bed as nice as home, and a breakfast better than at home. I assume we never expressed our thankfulness – just another task that can be accomplished when we join Uncle Coy on Heaven’s bright shore.

I will always remember our annual vacations to AR and my opportunity to spend a couple of days with Uncle Coy and Aunt Velma. Uncle Coy would always take me on these long "guided tours" through the backwoods and show me where some relative once lived or was born. It was the same route every year and I always loved it! I look forward to a "guided tour" in Heaven! We love you Aunt Velma! Mark, Rachael, Titus and Silas
