Craig R. King

Craig R. King, 48, Gardner, KS, passed away April 5, 2005, at his home. He was born October 5, 1956, in KCMO, grew up in Mission, KS, and moved to Olathe and the Gardner area 25 years ago. He was a contract specialist for USDA APHIS, KCMO, for 20 years, and also worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He served as a Cpl. in the US Marine Corps, 1974-78, and Reserves for 14 years. He received the Natl. Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Meritorious Mast, Rifle Marksman Badge. He was a former Cub Master in Cub Scouts in Gardner, and a member of the VFW. Craig was a 1974 graduate of Shawnee Mission North High School and was currently attending Baker University. He married Debra K. McKaig June 14, 1980, in Gardner. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his mother June Delores Mandacina King, Roeland Park, KS; sons Ryan David King, Jacob William King, of the home; daughter Lauren Kay King, of the home; sister Michele Shoemaker, Omaha, NE, Camilla King, Roeland Park, KS, Denise Yeager, Lake Winnebago, MO; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Rudolph Valentino King. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2005, at First Presbyterian Church, Gardner, KS. Inurnment following at Gardner Cemetery with Military Honors.
