Craig Martin Locke died suddenly in Watsonville, California on August 11, 2017, at the age of 54. Craig was born January 7, 1963, to parents Ralph and Gretchen. He was the youngest of 3 boys and spent most of his young childhood living in Sacramento. In 1985, he married his first wife Risa (Sanchez) Locke and his daughter Emily was born in 1986. In his early 20's Craig learned construction and went on to become a general contractor. After moving to La Selva Beach with his family, Craig befriended Melvin Falcon, his mentor who taught him the art of cabinet making. Craig married Brenda (Watson) Locke in 2000. Craig dreamed of owning a large piece of property and in 2004, Craig and Brenda purchased 120 acres on the Big Sur Coast. Craig enjoyed working with his hands and was a master woodworker. He also enjoyed ocean fishing with his friends. Craig had a competitive nature and succeeded at most everything he tried, be it skiing, baseball or golf.

Craig , what a great friend, big smile and kind words .always a gentleman. Craig was a creative builder, helping many friends with their homes. I was so happy when Craig found big sur property for his private retreat from the greedy ego driven world we all live in. I will always miss you and your huge smile Craig. Thank you for being you. Aptos loses another beautiful sole.
Funny picture typical for Craig .

I miss him. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of him. I am constantly reminded of his talent because he helped me build my house. He was my best friend and we talked almost everyday! My kids miss him so very much. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time. He will forever be in my heart!

My heart aches so bad! Craig was a classmate, a teammate, but most importantly, a friend. A good friend who shared so many funny times together. He was my catcher in high school and summer ball teams, and a damn good one! To his family... I know it's a rough time right now and will always be hard, but he is at peace... He is okay... And you shared your life with a great guy, who had a living heart! I'll always think of Craig and smile.
