COOREMAN, Richard Craige
September 4, 1955 – March 30, 2014
Craige was a wise man of few words but when he spoke you listened because his council was wise and his moral compass strong.
Richard Craige Cooreman passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah (Sal) Tully; and their two children, Jessica (Emma Reid) and Richard. Also mourning his loss are his two sisters, Judith Mykyte, Theresa (Dave) Wearmouth; and his younger brother Brent (Paula) Cooreman. Many nieces and nephews also mourn the loss of their dear Uncle Craige as well as his dear Aunt Margaret Lenderyou.
Craige was born in Edmonton, Alberta on September 4, 1955 but spent all of his life in Sturgeon County. This country boy married the love of his life Sarah (Sal) Tully in Gibbons, Alberta in 1984. Together they raised their family just outside of Gibbons on a beautiful property they developed together overlooking the Sturgeon River. It is here that they hosted many functions for family and friends, always with open arms.
Craige is predeceased by his parents Curiel (Cy) Charles Cooreman and Elsie Theodora Williams, as well as his mother and father- in-law, Cecile and Jack Tully with whom he shared a special bond.
From the early 1980's until his death, Craige was a loyal employee of Jacob's situated at Dow Chemical Plant in Fort Saskatchewan. Though Craige was a carpenter by trade, he held numerous positions with Jacob's working his way through the ranks to become a Contract Administrator. Colleagues and staff will miss his guidance and stewardship.
Special thanks to Dr. Kumar for all of his care and compassion. As well the family would like to thank the excellent Nursing and Palliative Care Staff at the Fort Saskatchewan Hospital and of course the compassionate staff at the Cross Cancer Institute.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Chapel, 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton.
