CRYSTAL HAMEL Obituary
Age 57, of Economy Boro, on Sunday, January 27, 2013. Beloved wife of 27 years to Matthew C. Hamel; daughter of the late Joseph and Virginia Williams; sister of Glenn Hartman (Katie) and Gary Hartman (Bonnie King). Crystal worked at Duquesne Light for 35 years. Friends received Wednesday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME OF CRANBERRY, 2678 Rochester Rd., 724-772-8800, where services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Rd., Pgh., PA 15237.

My dear friend is gone, but can never be forgotten. So many great memories of our times at the Penguin games. The Penguin games have never been the same for me since Crystal’s passing. I miss her greatly. I have been greatly blessed that the Lord had placed Crystal into my life and I’m very much looking forward to seeing her again in heaven.

Matt, I am so very sorry for your loss. Crystal will surely be missed. Whenever I think of Crystal, I always think of how funny she was, how hard she made us laugh (constantly) and how much fun it was working with her. She had the funniest sayings and songs for every situation. For me, her memories will live forever and I'm glad to have crossed paths with her in this lifetime. Crystal was a very unique and colorful lady to get to know. Her DLco family at Raccoon share in the loss of her presence.. She left a hole in our hearts too. Her love of you, Matt, her brother Gary & his wife, sharing her love of travel, food, cooking ,the pool and her much loved Labs. The sound of her voice will linger amound us. When I walk, I will take her high spirit with me..and will wear my Pens shirt in her loving memory.

Matt, Glenn, and Gary, Our condolences on the loss of Crystal. I go back a to the year my family moved into the Avalon neighborhood, 1957. Crystal was just a little tike with light color curly hair. Glenn and Gary helped us move into our new home. For the next 10 years we got to see Crystal grow into a beautiful teenage woman. She will be missed.

Dear Matt: Words can not begin to explain our sorrow in hearing of Crystal's death. Jean and I just couldn't believe it. Our years of enjoyment in watching the Pens will also be my most cherished memories. Hockey games will never be the same without her sitting next to me. There will never be a game that I will not be thinking of her. She will forever be sitting next to me. She was a very dear friend and we rejoice in the fact that we will see her again when we too are called home. Heaven is a much better place now that Crystal is there and is waiting for us.
