Such a young life taken far too soon. I am deeply saddened by your passing and will miss your wit and sharp mind. Your death has affected me to the core and it will not be in vain. Good bye my girl

I will remember Crystal as someone who emitted the warmth of the sun.
I had the privilege of meeting her during my Restorative Justice Class, and she was someone who I shared an instant connection with. Her capacity to engage from a place of compassion moved me, and I always felt comforted by her presence. I will never forget her ability to captivate her classmates with her courage and passion. I am deeply and utterly saddened to know of her passing, and I would like to convey my heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones.

I am very saddened by the loss of Chrystal. I taught her in several classes and frankly she taught me as much if not more. She was a fighter and a staunch advocate of social justice issues.

My condolences to her friends and family.....

I want to offer my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Crystal (Shay) Kane. She was my student in the Criminology program at KPU. I am glad to have known her, and I will remember her as a thoughtful, caring, committed, person who was passionate about a number of important issues. She will missed by those of us who worked with her, and by her colleagues in our program.

I taught Shay several times at kwantlen and would like to share my condolences to her family, friends and all who knew her. I will never forget Shay as she made a significant impact on her peers and I. She always spoke from the heart with the courage to be vulnerable. She shared her own experiences and I know her openness helped others to open up. She listened intently to others with compassion. I will always remember her humour, intelligence, and kindness. Our campus and our world is less bright without her.
