Curtis Eide Obituary
Curtis Shannon Eide was born on Aug. 11, 1967, in Alden, Iowa, to Marvin and Ethel (Roske) Eide. He died on Aug. 22, 2017, at the Seasons Hospice House in Rochester, after a four-month battle with cancer.
Curtis graduated from Alden High School and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. On June 22, 1991, he married Kaaren Hemmingson in LeMars, Iowa. Curtis worked as a software engineer for IBM in Rochester for 28 years. He was an avid runner and enjoyed gardening and fishing. He coached his sons in their youth sports (soccer, basketball, baseball) and played guitar and drums for the Family of Christ Lutheran Church Praise Band.
Survivors include his wife, Kaaren (Hemmingson) Eide of Rochester; two sons, Nathan and Daniel Eide of Rochester; parents, Marvin and Ethel Eide of Alden, Iowa; one brother, Kevin (Kelly) Eide of Colorado Springs, Colo. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Family of Christ Lutheran Church (Rochester, Minn.), Rochester Central Lutheran School, or Seasons Hospice (Rochester, MN)

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. It is awful to loose someone so suddenly and whom you thought was perfectly healthy. I lost my Father within six months of being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

I am very sorry for your loss. Curt was my Team Lead on the Concurrent Maintenance Team for the Phyp/Hypervisor. I learned a lot from him during this time working on out team with Pat Keane as the Manager and Brad Lory, Aditya Kumar and myself rounding out the team. I saw Curt this spring at Home Depot and had a short chat about the past and what was currently happening in our lives. I am grateful for the time I had with him! He was taken too soon and will be missed by many!
