Hi Val, I was very, very, sorry to here about the passing of Curtis. We all will miss him. He was a great inspiration to the many, many people. Sorry we did not make the Funeral. We love you Val please call me when you can. I have been collecting names for a memorial concert we want ot have.

I will never forget the love that Papa Bear had for Val. Every time we talked, he would always start our conversation telling me how he would not be here without Val and how much he loved her. His life was lived for his wife and his music. He would always greet you with a smile and a firm handshake and he was truly a great man. Your physical presence will be missed but you will always be in our heart.

I met Mr. Hatcher years ago when I took my grandson to a family picnic. I was truly impress with this gentlemen. I heard he was a great musician that I never got a chance to see performed. At the picnic he gave me a CD and I still have it. Precious memories. My grandson are Velma grandsons, they are Chris, (baby Chris), Leander, Stacey and Eric. He did not get a chance to see great-granddaughter Charlotte who is 10 months old. He will be truly missed by all who loved him. Rest in Peace. The Williams and James Family.

Curtis has always been such a nice and welcoming man to me. I will miss his smile and great stories about his life on the east coast. Most of all I will miss him always telling me how much he loves his Velma. Rest well Curtis. You've earned it.
