Curtis Wayne McRae

Curtis Wayne McRae, age 55, passed away on May 30th at U.T. Medical Center surrounded by loved ones. He was born on August 5, 1966, in Maryville, TN to Jimmie Lee McRae and Carnell Harvey Echols. In high school, he was in the marching band playing trumpet and excelled in his classes. In 1985, he graduated from Alcoa High School in the top 50% of his class. He attended the University of Tennessee from 1985 to 1987, majoring in agriculture. He was a Karate Master and enjoyed creating music on his keyboard, working on cars, cooking for family, and helping or talking with others.

Curtis is survived by his children; Curtis Alred and Jasmyn McRae, his grandson, Markus Sullivan, his sisters; Cheryl Jordan, Carolyn Harshaw, Terry Pichon, Tina Butts, and Tyronda Coffin, his brothers; Jimmie McRae, Barry McRae, and Chico Echols, many nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins and friends.

Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2022, at St. John Baptist Church, Alcoa with service to follow. Final arrangements entrusted to Foothills Funeral Home, Maryville. www.foothillsfh.com
