Cynthia ACEVES Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 18, 2016.
Cynthia "Cindy" (Hunter) Aceves, 77, of Kissimmee, Florida stepped through Heaven's gates on Sunday, October 17th, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

Cindy was a true Kissimmee girl, born here June 8th, 1939 to Edith Estelle (Bass) Hunter and Charles James Hunter. She graduated from Osceola High School in the Class of 1955 and loved marching in the band playing drums. She then attended Miami Valley School of Nursing in Dayton, Ohio and began working in the medical field intermittently from 1960 until her retirement from Florida Hospital Kissimmee in 2013. Cindy was also an accomplished pianist and sang in her church choir, talents she passed on to her three daughters. Leading the church's youth choir for many years, she would drive endless miles to pick up children who wanted to sing in the church youth choir but had no way to get to practice. Cindy not only loved young people, but they loved her and called her "Mom" for the unconditional love she showed them.

Her faith, her family and her friends were her most prized earthly treasures. Cindy loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all her heart and soul and mind and strength, and served everyone she met with humility and graciousness. She loved her family deeply and would proudly introduce them to everyone; and, Cindy never met a stranger, only a new friend. All who knew her were forever affected by her lively wit, her quick smiles and her open heart to listen and encourage. Cindy also had a special place in her heart for her furry friends, and opened her heart and home to her beloved Shar-Pei dog, Beba, and her Siamese cat, Quito, who were her faithful companions for many years.

Cindy is survived by her brother James Steven Hunter of Des Moines, IA; her daughters Michelle (Smith) Hansen, Steamboat Springs, CO; Melanie (Perry) Moore, St. Cloud, FL; and Lisette (Perry) Coleman, Lineville, AL and their spouses, along with 10 loving grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and a multitude of dear friends, all of whom will miss her presence and the joy she filled their lives with.

A celebration of Cindy's life will be held at Good Samaritan Village chapel at 4197 So. Orange Blossom Trail in Kissimmee, FL this Thursday, October 20th at 7:00pm In lieu of flowers, Cindy wished donations to be made to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). This can be done online at the website https://secure.aspca.org/donate/memorial.

Arrangements under the direction of Grissom Funeral Home and Crematory, Kissimmee, FL.

I miss Ms Cindy dearly. I worked with her when I was down at FH Kissimmee. She was like another mother to me. I was so happy that she was able to attend my wedding back in June 2009. When I had my daughter she often asked me about her. I still have the photo album that she gave me as a gift. It is filled with pictures of my princess. When I look at those pictures, I also have great memories of Ms Cindy. May her family be comforted as you all miss her dearly and treasure the memories for life.

My Deepest Condolences to her friends & Family. Cindy will be truly missed. One of my fondest memories with her is of one of my daughter's birthday parties. She came early to help set up and she noticed how stressed out I was. She pulled me aside and gave me the tightest hug and said "Everything is going to be just fine". She sat me down and told me, "Enjoy your kids while they are young and enjoy the blessings that God has given, and know that everything will be okay!"
I will never forget you Cindy! I miss you already. I'm sad that you're gone, but I know you're smiling down on us feeling better and happier! Until we meet again my beautiful friend! Heaven gained an angel.

Cindy hired me in 1990 at KMH! I think she liked my Boston accent as she had spent some time in Mass. Cindy had the greatest sense of humor, and when she laughed she made it worth it!!! Hopefully, I made her laugh a couple of times. You will be missed, Miss Cind, but never forgotten; you gave all of us, human or animal, so very much.
