Cynthia Bagley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 23, 2022.
BAGLEY, Cynthia White, 64, passed away peacefully in her home on December 21, 2022. Cindy was born in Danville, grew up in Lynchburg and raised her family in Richmond. Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Ollie Sandford White. She is survived by her mother, Mary Lucy White of Lynchburg; her husband of 39 years, Terry; her three wonderful children, a daughter, Kassie Bagley, with her husband, Tobias Bartsch and their daughter, Zoe of Mamaroneck, N.Y. and her sons, Mitch Bagley of Charlotte, N.C. and Kyle Bagley of Richmond; her brother, William Sandford White (Deborah); her nephews, Jason (Cindy) and Brandon (Mary Ann); and Jason's children, Lucas and Ashlyn. She is also survived by her in-laws, Dr. John Bagley (Gwen), Judge Carol Bagley Amon (Tom) and Gayle Augst (Mike). Cindy is also survived by her lifelong friend, Lisa Peckens; and many devoted friends, all of whom showed enormous love and support throughout the years.

Cindy was a graduate of Mary Washington and the MCV School of Pharmacy. She worked at the VA Hospital for her entire career and was proud to serve our veterans.

Cindy and Terry met by chance during a party in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Seizing on what he knew was a once in a lifetime chance, Terry waited a full two weeks to broach the topic of marriage. Over time and after considerable pestering, she gave in and they were happily married for 39 years.

Cindy was a rare beauty, inside and out. Endlessly patient and kind, lacking all vanity and materialism, she was incapable of gossip or ill will. She cared only about her family and delighted in her children. She was a loving wife and devoted mother to the end. We will love and miss her forever.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at St. Edward the Confessor Church in Bon Air, with a reception following at 2 p.m. at Salisbury Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maymont Foundation.

Cindy was a classmate at the MCV pharmacy school. I also worked with her for several years in the 1980s. She was indeed a rare beauty both inside and outside.

Bagley family,

I´m so sorry for your loss. I´ll always remember your family and Cindy´s kindness for allowing a stranger like me join your Christmas dinner after just moving to Richmond. Praying for you all my friends.
