Wise, funny, fun, brilliant. The heart of a queen. The linchpin of the newsroom. Old-school reporter and editor, born and made for the trade. She knew what news and news reporting was and should still be. I wish, wish, wish there could be more years with her. Impossible to imagine life without her. Fly in spirit, amazing woman. Everyone who knew you loved and admired you.

Cindy was a leader in everything. A role model for me and many, many others. Everything she said was worth remembering, and applying to life. Wise, funny, fun. The heart of a queen. The linchpin of the newsroom. Old-school reporter and editor, born and made for the trade. She knew what news and news reporting was and should still be. I wish, wish, wish there could be more years with her. Impossible to imagine life without her. Everyone who knew you loved and admired you, Cindy. Fly in spirit, amazing woman.

I always looked up to Cindy and would ask for her advice at the New Haven Register. She was a kind person and a wonderful coworker. My condolences to her loved ones.

I was saddened to learn of her passing. Working as a fill-in reporter at the NHR during the early 1970s I recall how lively she was -- always with a big smile, just like the picture above.
I'm sure she will be missed by many, many people whose lives she touched, including mine.

Dear Cindy, when I started at the New Haven Register in the winter of 1980, working in the Milford bureau, I was so intimidated by the "real" veteran reporters in the Orange Avenue newsroom. My first impression of you? You were the classic, tough, front-page-style reporter. And I learned so much by reading your stories. Then I came to know you and discovered what a kind, mentoring, supportive friend you were to all of us in the newsroom. After all these years since we've last spoken, I've not forgotten your wisdom and kindness. Along with all of your friends, I will miss you and I will not forget you. Love, Thom
