Cynthia Brown Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 9, 2025.
Conway - Cynthia A. (York) Brown, age 65, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, in Conway, South Carolina, after a courageous 19-month battle with lung and adrenal cancer.

Born on November 1, 1960, in Bucyrus, Ohio, Cynthia was the daughter of the late James H. and Donna M. (Rowalt) York. She grew up in Bucyrus alongside her siblings and remained deeply connected to her hometown throughout her life.

Cynthia-known affectionately as Cindy-was a familiar face in the Bucyrus community. She worked as a teller at First Federal Community Bank, where she greeted customers with warmth and kindness. Her dedication extended beyond her professional life; she served as a Sunday School teacher at Good Hope Lutheran Church and frequently volunteered as a chaperone for her children's school and church trips. Cindy had a gift for making others feel welcome and valued, whether through her service or simply by sharing a smile. Her love for the beach eventually led them to relocate from La Vista, Nebraska, to Conway, South Carolina, upon retirement.

Family was at the heart of Cindy's world. She is survived by her devoted husband, Douglas Brown of Conway, SC; daughters April (Brown) McCaleb of La Vista, NE, and Angela (Brown) Felice of Delaware, OH; grandchildren Abigail McCaleb of La Vista, NE, and Santino and Vincent Felice of Delaware, OH; brothers Bradley York, Donald York, and Mark York of Bucyrus, OH; sister Laurie York of Bucyrus, OH; and mother-in-law Maxine (Lunger) Brown of Bucyrus, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother David York of South Pittsburg, Tennessee.

To her grandchildren, Cindy was the fun grandma who brought joy to every visit and made each holiday magical. Her creativity and love turned ordinary moments into cherished memories that will live on in their hearts.

In keeping with Cindy's wishes, no services will be held. The family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace with the Lord and invites others to remember her in prayer.

Yesterday

I remember being so excited when I found out my Aunt Donna had a baby girl after three boys! I was an only child and they were all very special to me. I have so many wonderful memories of Christmas celebrations and family picnics. Years come and go but she was always close to me in my heart! Sincere condolences to Doug and her family.
