Cynthia French Obituary
She was born in 1941 in Meriden and graduated from Maloney High School. She was a lifelong Meriden resident and was a member of St. Laurent Parish. Mrs. French retired from the State of Connecticut Office of the Comptroller; was a volunteer at Midstate Medical Center; the number one fan of the Platt High School girls' basketball and volleyball teams and the Southington High School boys' volleyball team; she enjoyed going to the casinos; and she was a diehard Yankees fan. There was nothing she loved more than spending time with her family.
Cynthia was predeceased by her husband, Robert T. French. She is survived by her daughter, Christine Flynn, and her husband, Daniel; and two sons, Russell French, and his wife, Barbara; and Stuart French, all of Meriden; six grandchildren, Jessica, Cayla, and Abigail French; Abigail Murphy; and Emily and Kiera Flynn; two nieces, Gina Dutil Layman, of Middlefield; and Tara-Lynn Dutil Tunison, from Florida; and several great-nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Donald "Bugsy" Dutil.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, Aug. 28, at 10:15 a.m., from the John J. Ferry & Sons, Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, and at 11 a.m. at St. Laurent Church, for a Mass of Christian burial. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, Aug. 27, from 4 to 8 p.m.

My prayers are with you at this difficult time. I just received notice that Cindy had passed away and I just wanted you to know how highly I thought of her and especially her great sense of humor.. I had the pleasure of working with your mom at the Office of the State Comptroller. I am a Red Sox fan and your mom and I spared all summer long at the Comptroller's Office. I am glad to have known her - She held a great pride of her family and always shared a wonderful story resulting in a laugh or two.

Hearing of Cyndi's passing was heart-breaking. For so many years, we stayed connected even after Jefferson Federal. She was a bright spark, full of humor and a sense of fun, and with a passion for life and family that made her a very special woman. Bob's Elizabeth Taylor has gone to join him and I will miss her very much. My deepest condolences to her loving family.

Heaven has another angel! Your mom and I were grade school students/boarders at Sacred Heart Convent in Newport, Vt. She was a special, fun loving friend who stayed in contact all these years.
