Cynthia Prescott Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 9, 2022.
Cynthia Joan (McIntyre) Prescott, 58, of Bellingham, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family after a 4-year battle with Interstitial Lung Disease and Pulmonary Hypertension.

Cindy was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on December 5, 1963, the daughter of Bruce McIntyre of West Newton and the late Marguerite McIntyre (Thompson). A longtime resident of Bellingham, she grew up in West Newton and graduated from Newton North High School in 1981. She attended Aquinas Junior College and graduated with her Associates Degree in Secretarial Sciences. Over her career, she worked many jobs, but greatly enjoyed her time as a teacher's aide at Bellingham Early Childhood Program and was most recently employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Correction as an Auditor in Milford.

Cindy spent many years volunteering and being involved with her community through many organizations. She was a longtime parishioner of Saint Brendan's Parish in Bellingham and was involved with the prayer shawl ministry and co-chaired the Holiday Crafts Table at the Annual Fall Fair for numerous years.
She loved gathering with her large family, especially during the Christmas season. She had a passion for researching genealogy for her own ancestry, and for friends and extended family. Cindy was always up for a vacation to the family camp on Lake Wassookeag in Dexter, Maine, or Walt Disney World! In her downtime she could be found watching Hallmark movies and Murder She Wrote reruns. She will be most remembered for her kind and generous spirit, tough skinned with a big heart.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years, Jeffrey D. Prescott, and her children, Ashley B. Pluta, and her husband, Bryan, and Patrick R. Prescott, all of Bellingham. She adored and loved to spoil her three beloved grandchildren, Jackson, Grady, and Raegan Pluta.

Cindy is also survived by her father, Bruce McIntyre of West Newton and her siblings, Jon T. McIntyre and his wife, Mary Beth of West Newton, Heather L. Melanson and her husband, Scott of South Casco, Maine and Jeffrey M. McIntyre and his wife, Sophie, of Waltham, her mother-in-law, Carolyn (Raymond) Prescott and her late husband, George Prescott of Bellingham, and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 14th, at Saint Brendan's Church, 384 Hartford Avenue in Bellingham at 10 a.m. Interment at Scott Cemetery in Bellingham will be held at a later date.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, June 13th, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber Street in Medway. (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com)

Cant get my mind to comprehend that she is gone. A very special heart and spirit. Been too long since we had seen each other but didn't diminish the friendship and respect I felt for her. The fact that I had the gift of knowing and caring about this genuine, incredibly strong, compassionate, giving woman is something I will remember and treasure. Sleep in the Lord's peace my friend
