My deepest condolences go to his wife and children over the loss of their loving husband and father.
I met him in the early 1980s and stayed in touch with him for several years.
He truly was a brilliant individual.

I learned about Dr. Cyril Wecht first from documentaries, then his books and at conferences on the JFK Assassination. I also enjoyed his views on other famous deaths. His knowledge, professionalism and integrity were the foundation for his bold search for the truth. He was a Profile in Courage. I'm glad that I took my nephew with me to Dallas to attend the JFK Lancer Conference in 2016 where Cyril gave a demonstration of the SBT and a passionate speech. I'm also pleased to have attended the JFK Symposium at Duquesne University last November. Cyril has lit the torch for us to pass it to a younger generation. (Cyril was also a successful family man, and will live on in their hearts, as well as ours). He will not be forgotten.

Dr. Cyril Wecht was a rare gem, embodying a unique combination of exceptional qualities. Renowned for his brilliance, extensive knowledge, compassion, empathy, sense of humor, and overall humanity set him apart. I have followed his work since I was a teen and he was Allegheny County Coroner, and while my expertise does not lie in forensic pathology, Dr. Wecht significantly influenced my academic journey over the years. He was never too busy to talk to a student or assist someone. One of the most profound lessons I learned from him when he assisted me with a research project was is that regardless of one´s profession or position, the values of compassion, empathy, and humanity are of the utmost importance, and should not be compromised by political or external influences or pressures. I am forever grateful for his enduring impact on me and the profound wisdom he shared with the world, maintaining his empathy and humanity throughout. My sincerest condolences to the Wecht family and Dr. Wecht´s colleagues during this difficult time. R.I.P. Dr. Wecht, and thank you for what you contributed to the world, medicine, science, and humanity. Most of all thank you for the impact you had on me and my academic career!

He had a brilliant mind. And in his lectures he destroyed the Warren Report.

Mr. Wecht was an independent, truth seeker who never wavered in his pursuit of justice. When the truth is finally known to the masses in this case, Mr. Wecht´s name will be near the top of the list for those who should be admired.

Cyril Wecht was a courageous pathologist who stood up against the entire establishment on the JFK case. And he did that pretty much alone for almost three decades. Until Oliver Stone's film came out. I will miss him a lot, he was a hero.

Dr. Wecht was a great and brilliant man. He was also a kind and generous person. He made my day (my career?) when he called me out of the blue in 1991 and encouraged me to pursue interviewing former Secret Service agents that were assigned to President Kennedy. I was a young man of 25 then and his call was so inspirational that I immediately took his advice. 6 books and countless related projects later, I thank Dr. Wecht from the bottom of my heart for the call, the inspiration, the kindness and his generosity whenever I saw him in person at conferences. Rest in Peace to a legendary man whose kind we shall never see again.

I'm a retired Pa. State Trooper. While in the academy, Dr. Wecht visited our cadet class. He was very knowledgeable and personable. His research into the JFK assassination is legendary. I am really going to miss him giving new insights related to that case and other ones he has investigated.
