Alice Chester

CHESTER - Alice Marie, of Saskatoon, passed away on February 24, 2007 at the age of 89. Alice was born at White Star, SK on May 10, 1917. She lived in White Star until moving to Prince Albert at the age of seven. Alice went to school in Prince Albert and then worked for Morgan's Ladies Wear doing alterations. She then worked for twelve years at the local Strand Theater. In 1948 Alice took a business course and then worked for the Bishop's Palace. In 1964 Alice went to work for Olver & Sen Optometrists where she retired from in 1982. For many years Alice was a member of the Ladies of the Royal Purple #50, where she enjoyed assisting with many projects. In 1995 Alice moved to Saskatoon where she lived until her passing. Alice was predeceased by her parents, William and Marie; her brothers, William, Eugene, Victor, Charles; and her sister, Nancy. Alice is survived by her brother, John Chester of Langley, BC; her sister, Leone Fleming of Saskatoon; sister-in-law, Dorothy Chester of Prince Albert; brother-in-law, Denis Brisebois of Moose Jaw; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 1401 4th Ave W, with the Celebrants Reverend Father Maurice Fiolleau and Father Clifford Tremblay presiding. Interment will be at South Hill Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to a charity of donor's choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel.
