Cynthia,
I'm so sorry to see that Keith passed away recently. We went to school together from first grade all the way to high school. He was always so brilliant, I knew he would probably be a successful physician like his dad.I saw Dr Donald until I was 28 and he finally made me see an adult physician! It was nice seeing you guys a couple of times at Green Acres and you may not remember but I visited yall at your home in Shreveport one time years ago. Cynthia, condolences to you and your entire family.

Keith Payne welcomed me to LSU in 1985. He was a faculty colleague and a friend. I attended some of his educational lectures, and they were excellent. Whenever I consulted about my patients, he gave helpful, expert advice. My wife and I sometimes got together with him and Cynthia, and they were a fun couple. Later, he took care of my wife for advanced emphysema, till she died in 2010. I will surely miss him, as will many of his friends.

Best wishes to Cynthia and the family,
John Todd

Our family was privileged to meet the Paynes when we jointly shared the decade-plus intense, but happy, journey through the 10 books of the Suzuki music course for violin and cello. Indeed, the attached photo was taken when the Suzuki ensemble were performing downtown for one of Shreveport´s festivals. I also occasionally passed Dr Payne in the corridors of LSU School of Medicine and even though, as Chief of his department, he was many grades above me, he always found time for a few friendly words. I do not remember ever seeing him without a smile!
Our sincerest heartfelt condolences to Cindy, Ann and John - you and Shreveport have lost a really good man, who will long be remembered.

So very sorry to learn of this. Much love and prayers for the entire Payne Family. I worked for Dr Don Payne as his office nurse for 16 years. I absolutely adored both he and Patsy.
