My deepest sympathy goes out to all the family but especially to Edna and Harrison who I went to school with in Richmond. It is truly very sad to loose a parent, we hope they will be with us forever.
You were very lucky to have your Dad for so long , we must be grateful for that but the hole is still in your heart I know.
Sincerely

Dear Great-Grandpa;
You have truly inspired a community as well as many generations. Your enduring capacity to learn, and your desire to put the welfare of your neighbours first are traits that we still look to today. Your leadership touched not only our family, but everyone around you. I have learned the importance of perserverence and civic pride from you. I am so proud to call myself your great-grandaughter, and I only hope that I can continue to live in a manner that would make you proud. You organized and planned for an entire community using your good common sense and genuine concern for those around you. I will miss your sage advice, your astute political commentary, and most of all, your presence in my life. I know you and Grandma are together again, and that you will pass along our love to her. Thank you for being you, and living your life with the conviction you did. You have inspired thousands.
All My Love, For All Time -
Jess

He Lived a Life
He lived a life with a purpose
When he coached a hockey team
He gave guidance and motivated his players
As well helped to build their self esteem
He lived a life as a farmer
Working hard to feed the city folk
He went to work early each and every morning
It was a tough life and that’s no joke
He lived a life as a husband
Devoted to the one he loved
After seventy years of marriage
It was time for Grandma to wait for him above
He lived a life as a patriarch
He did so by setting a fine example
The hard working man of God he was
His generosity was more than ample
He lived a life as a politician
His accomplishments were varied and many
Let it not be forgotten when his tenure was over
Nepean didn’t owe anyone a penny
He lived a life as an author
In order to set the record strait
At ninety-five he published “Spirit of Nepean”
I thought that the book was great
After nearly a hundred years his full life is now over
It is now time for him to finally rest
I’m sure Grandma was there waiting for him at the Pearly Gates saying
“Come on now Aubrey… put on your vest “
He has taught us all so much
We're so proud of him I must say
His legacy I’m sure will stand the test of time
As he will be remembered in the fondest way!
Dedicated to D.A. Moodie (Grandpa)

Aubrey was for me a man of great grace and wisdom. He went out of his way to make a difference in the community and we are all the better for it.
Andy Haydon once told him that it was wrong to let something be named for you while you were still alive. There will always be many more living memorials for Aubrey than just the school.
I was once told that it was a good thing "to live respected and die regreted." Aubrey makes those words real for me.
Aubrey, you have given to us all so much.
May we add to your legacy and live by your example always.

My sympathy going out to the family at this time ...
" D. Aubrey Moodie"
If ever there was a man
Who lived up to his name
Was sometimes in the media
Politics for a spell
Down to earth just the same
People from all over
Different walks of life
At some time or another
Met either him or his wife
True to his word
Confidence in stride
He stood up for Nepean
Gave it pride
His legacy will remain
And continue to thrive
Something to indeed follow upon
Keep it alive
The laughter will be missed
As with his farmboy charm
His humour and wit
Never intent for harm
I got to meet him
At a few places here and there
Always glad to say "'Hello"
To reminsce,
He wrote a book
Reminding us how it was so
The days of Nepean
So many years ago
Mr. Nepean has now left us
Onto enternal bliss
His presence will be one
Forever remembered
Greatly missed
And so ends this toast of
poetic duty
To which I dedicate
In memory of one
D. Aubrey Moodie...

Few people can claim to have made such a difference in their community over such an incredible amount of time. His leadership touched our community in so many ways...well into his tenth decade...truely a great man and community builder!

As a child I knew Aubrey Moodie as our neighbour who lived two farms away from ours.Politics is not something to which a kid can easily relate.Back then I just knew Aubrey as the man who took charge whenever a situation arose where someone in the community needed help.Aubrey was very direct and decisive whenever a community problem needed solving. He was always the first to offer help in a crisis situation. His advice was well worth taking to heart.Apart from this I will remember Aubrey as the father who drove me and the Moodie kids to swim at Britannia Beach on Sunday afternoon's in the 1950's, and bought us ice cream on the way home.
I wish to express my sympathy
to the Moodie family.

"Aubie" was definitely a great man. He certainly deserves the honour with which the people of Nepean hold him. This area and the country has lost a man of great foresight and ability. Our sympathies to his family.

Douglas was a man of vision who held the line for the benefit of Nepeaners. He took a town nearly bankrupt to a model city with high cash reserves that became "the place to live" in Ottawa.
Our deepest condolences to the family.

Aubrey was a brilliant man who had an uncanny ability to analyze a problem and have it solved while others were still dealing with its superficial aspects.
He worked tirelessly for the citizens of Nepean and his accomplishments will not be forgotten.
Personally, I always appreciated his unwavering support when we were negotiating the the take over of our hydro utility from Ontario Hydro and the subsequent formation of Nepean Hydro.

Aubry Moodie was a man that was revered in political circles and I recall my first meeting with him when Sid Handleman was running for the provincial government and I was meeting with Aubry to ask for his support without which no one could get elected and without batting an eye he said he would support Sid and as I was leaving he turned and gave me a huge smile and a wink. I am presently in Indonesia and my condolences go out to his entire family, he will be dearly missed by all.
