D. Stapleton Obituary
He was born in Bushnell, FL, and lived in Long County most of his life. He was retired form Interstate Paper in Riceboro after 37 years of service where he worked as a boiler operator. He was an avid fox hunter and fisherman and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Ludowici.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sammy I. Stapleton Sr. and Minnie Ryals Stapleton; and a brother, Dennis Stapleton.
Survivors are his wife, Cathy H. Stapleton; daughter and son-in-law, Vicki Teston and Jason; son and daughter-in-law, David Stapleton and Jennifer; grandchildren, Davis Teston, Tripp Stapleton and Emma Stapleton; sisters, Brenda Kay Truman and Tammy Schroeder, all of Ludowici, and Holly Ricks of Reidsville; brother, Sammy Stapleton Jr. of Savannah; his mother-in-law, Clarice Horne of Ludowici; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at Calvary Baptist Church in Ludowici.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Calvary Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in the Baggs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Sauls, Britt Horne, Bubba Fowler, Tony Fowler, Wilford Morris, Darvin Freeman, Bob Wedincamp, Sammy Stapleton and Tom Frye. Honorary pallbearers will be his fox hunting buddies.
Remembrances are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 562, Ludowici, GA 31316.
