Daisy Hardy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 26, 2025.
Daisy June (Emerson) Hardy, 95, entered the gates of heaven on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at her home in the Robson Ranch Resort Community, Eloy, Arizona, where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Ed Perez, for the past 4 years. Daisy was born on December 7, 1929 in Bryant, Indiana to Russell O. and Miriam E. (Shultz) Emerson. She moved to Mansfield, Ohio in the 1940's where she met the love of her life, Charles Junior Hardy. They married on September 27, 1947 and resided in Mansfield for 5 years before moving to Boden, Ohio for 3 years, then back to Mansfield for 47 years. They started their family in November 1948 when their first child, Deborah (Debbie) Ruth, was born. Their second child, Charles (Chuck) Russell, was born in June 1950; and their third child, Rebecca (Becky) Pauline, arrived in July 1953. Due to health reasons in 2003, Daisy and Junior moved to Medina, Ohio to live in an In-Law Suite their son-in-law and daughter, David and Becky Arron, had built onto their house. In 2008 when Junior died, she stayed there until 2011 when she decided to move to the Elmcroft Assisted Living Community in Mansfield, Ohio. In 2016, she moved to Gilbert, Arizona to live with Debbie and Ed. While there, she became very active with the Gilbert Senior Center. In 2021, she moved to the Robson Ranch Resort Community with them and was involved with the Eloy Senior Center.

Daisy enjoyed working at Isaly's Dairy in Mansfield as a teenager. She loved being married, having a family, and caring for her husband and children. She loved to read, do jigsaw puzzles, and play games with family and friends. Daisy was active in the Ridgeway First Church of God in Mansfield where she sang in the choir. "Heaven Came Down and Glory Filled My Soul" and "Amazing Grace" were just two of her favorite songs. She served as youth advisor along with her husband, helped at the county fair church booth, and served as nurse at the church camp, Camp Otyokwah. While she was a member of Ridgeway, she was blessed to go on a trip to the Holy Land where she got to actually walk where her Lord and Savior walked; and she was baptized in the Jordan River. Daisy loved making friends during her life. She had an amazing memory for remembering names. Once she met you, she wouldn't forget you!

Daisy is survived by her children: Debbie (Ed) Perez of Eloy, Arizona; Chuck (Karen) Hardy of Mansfield, Ohio; and Becky (David) Arron of Medina, Ohio. Grandchildren: Angie (Chuck) Mesko, Jon (Michelle) Arron, Ben Arron, Melanie (Brad) Steward, Lori (Bret) Steward. Great-grandchildren: Cade, Cooper, Keane, Finn, Darby (Dan), Iah, Morgan, Brandy (Randy), and Kasey. She is also survived by 3 sisters: Miriam Moore of Mansfield, Ohio, Martha Robertson of Mansfield, Ohio, and Rhea Hammond of Zanesville, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Junior Hardy; brothers, John, Robert, and Bill Emerson; sisters, Betty Perry, Mabel Jordan, Gladys Maxhimer, and Patricia Chelski.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Ridgeway First Church of God, 1380 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, Ohio on April 5, 2025 from 2:00pm - 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that contributions be made to Ridgeway First Church of God.

Daisy will be interred with her husband at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
