PEORIA - Daniel Thomas Kelly, 69, of Peoria passed away at 7:03 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, at Sharon Elms in Peoria.He was born on Sept. 14, 1946, in Chicago, Ill., to Thomas and Mildred Kelly, who preceded him in death.Dan graduated from Spalding High School in 1964. In 1965, he entered the Franciscan Order of the Sacred Heart and spent 25 years as a Franciscan Brother. He graduated from Quincy College in 1980 and was a school teacher at Hales Franciscan High School, Little Flower Academy and St. Philip Neri, all in the Chicago area.Dan is survived by his brothers, Jim of St. Louis and Larry (Cindy) of Merna, Ill.; his sisters, Mary (Del) Brooks and Teresa (Don) Beachler, both of Peoria, Kathy Kelly of West Peoria and Noreen (Dan) Carrigan of Normal; and several nieces and nephews.Services for the family will be private. Cremation has been accorded by Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Services in Peoria.

Just heard about Uncle Danny's passing today from my dad. I have a lot of good memories from holidays when I was young. I always loved his stories and he will be missed.
