Dale E. Carter

ALEXANDER - Dale Edward Carter, 51, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 12, 2013 at a Bangor hospital with his family by his side. Dale was born March 6, 1962, in Calais, son of Gerald and Nancy (Short) Carter.

He graduated from Calais Memorial High School, class of 1980, and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served in warehousing. After his enlistment, Dale moved to Houston, where he worked for Bridgestone Tire. He was transferred to Dallas, where he served as the operations manager for Bridgestone Tire. In 1995, Dale was sent to Wisconsin to manage the fleet distribution for Bridgestone's GCR Truck Tire division. He eventually became employed as the shipping/receiving manager for Mueller Sports Medicine. In February of 2013, Dale decided to return to Maine. He enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, motorcycling, and spending time at the family camp on Pleasant Lake in Alexander.

Dale was predeceased by his father, Gerald. Surviving are his two children, David and Sarah Carter of Prairie Du Sac, Wis.; his mother, Nancy Carter of Calais; fiancé, Connie Breunig of Sauk City, Wis.; his sister, Cathy Rayner and her husband, Stephen, of Spruce Head; two brothers, Chris Carter and his wife, Elizabeth, of Biddeford, and Raymond Carter and his wife, Susan, of Calais; and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Dale's wishes, there will be no public services. Donations in Dale's memory may be made to Calais High School, Athletic Department, 34 Blue Devil Hill, Calais, ME 04619.
