It's been a long long time since I've talked to DJ.....I remember when he had flip flops, tank top and his hard hat on...and so did I but DJ was caught on local news....ha ha!! Missing those days and all the fun. He is definitely one of my heros. He'll be in my thoughts as I continue to do line work. I'm almost retired....watch over me DJ.

As I sit here in Rome Italy thinking of how lucky I am, I come across this obit, I also feel lucky to have know D.J. for over 35 years. I had the privilege of cutting those platinum locks, when they were still blonde. He always made me smile and I know how much he loved his family, golf, old rock and roll, and of course his barber. We had a great friendship and I will be forever thankful to his family for allowing me to come to his home and cut his hair when he was ill.. Yes D.J was a gift to us all Paula, Amber and Jeremy, you will be in my prayers and thoughts. I will light a candle for him in one of these amazing cathedrals in Italy.. love to you all and sorry i will have to miss his funeral..Please keep in touch.

My father was my best friend, my mentor, my hero, my confidant and someone I'll spend the rest of my trying to be a fraction of the person he was! He taught me to love everyone no matter their background, their race, their economic means, cause people are people and the more you know the better you become as a humanitarian! LOUD Music was his absolute passion, I don't think heaven will no longer be a peaceful place with my Pops there, rockin out! Tonight there's thunder outside and I know its cause my dad ran into Hendrix, Mercury, Joplin and Morrison:) Dad I'll miss you for the rest of my life but I know your always with you cause Im your little toad! DAD NO WORDS WILL EVER EXPLAIN THE RESPECT, ADMIRATION AND APPRECIATION I.HAVE FOR YOU! You are a true friend, one of very few that are left in this world like you, you will be sorely missed. I love you, till I see you again play high in the sky!

Sorry to read of Dale's passing. I know he has been struggling the past few years and it has been hard. I remember seeing his Chicago Bears flag flying high in the front yard every time I drove by and could tell who he was rooting for. I also remember how friendly he was because every time he passed our house down the street on the corner he always gave me a big smile and a big wave. Our condolences go out to you and hope peace will leave you with good memories.

Im sure going to miss my brother but at the same time Im thankful that we had time together to share stories and laugh about things. I liked to see him and holler out " hey its Edgar Winter" because of his long white hair. Im sad but at the same time happy for him that he gets to have a reunion with our mother and our brother Paul who he has missed for a long time.Love you Dale and lots of love to your family and your many friends. Miss ya brother
