It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dale McLeod on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at the age of 52. Dale was a loving and caring friend, colleague and most of all, mother and partner. She loved life and will be forever missed for the love and joy she brought to our lives. Dale was a high energy person, with an outgoing and generous personality. She was in radio sales for 25 years, where she succeeded at every level, gaining not just clients but life long friends. Dale was selfless, always ready to help and give to others. Dale is survived by her loving daughter, Madison McLeod; partner Terry McArthur; parents, Phyllis and Mel Mellstrom; brother, Gord and Coleen Carter; sister, Deb and Mike Ellison; nephew, Chad Ellison (Denise Taylor); and niece, Diana Ellison. Memorial Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Friday, July 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. A trust fund for Dale's daughter Madi is being set up, for those that are interested, please contact [email protected] for instructions on how to donate. In memory of Dale's vibrant personality, please wear casual clothing with bright colours. In living memory of Dale McLeod, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.

We first met Dale in about 1987-88 when she was just starting to date my friend best friend Brian. We hung out together for many years. She was always so much fun to be with and so generous with everything she had. Weather it was cooking a great meal, giving you concert tickets, scamming to get you a free trip to banff or just shooting the breeze. She was one of my favorite people in the world back then. I was so sad to hear of her passing. My deepest condolences to all of her families.

I'm so sorry to have learned of Dale's passing. In the time I knew her she was always such a bright spark full of laughter and a crazy story. Dale was more than generous and always ready with a smile. I can see her now laughing like mad wherever she is and telling stories about everyone she loved down here. I was very sad to hear of Dale's passing. I had not seen Dale in years but it sounds like she could still light up a room when she walked in. I have nothing but fond memories of Dale, one of which was being a bridesmaid at my wedding. She had a huge heart and was a very good friend to me. We had many, many laughs and that is what I will remember most. My deepest condolences to all Dale's family and friends.

A night out with Dale: hugs, laughter, texts with Madi, elbowing me in the ribs, hand patting my knee, gossip about countless people I've never met, more texts with Madi, engaging our server at dinner topped off with coercing a parking attendant at the Jublilee into letting us park in a restricted area because her sole was detaching from her boot and then flip flopping across the foyer, up the stairs and into our seats!

I only meet Dale once threw my daughter being friends with Maddie and it was her kindness that made us meet she was giving tickets to my daughter to a concert that was sold out and had made my daughter so happy. I know her daughter what a strong beautiful young women she is and my thoughts and prayers are with this beautiful young lady. I pray God will hold Maddie in his arms and give her some comfort knowing her mom is safe with him and he will keep her safe here on earth and always be there for her. I pray that she will grow into the beautiful women her mom raised her to be and that the sadness of her horrible loss will be replaced with only the loving happy memories of her and her mom.

I am so sorry to hear about Dale. I met her years ago through Cindy and Carolynn and then I would run into her and we would have these marvelous chats. She was always so bubbly and cheerful.
