DALE THOMAS SCHLINK VALPARAISO, IN Dale Thomas Schlink, 57, of Valparaiso passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016. He was born September 8, 1959 in Hammond, IN to Thomas L. and Joyce E. (Preston) Schlink and graduated from Portage high School in 1977. Dale made his career as the Service Manager for Inland Power Group in Gary, IN. He was an active member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church where he relished his unofficial position as audio -visual guru. His leisure time was enjoyed most when he could go fishing or hunting. On April 8, 1978 he married Valerie Mae Slingsby who survives along with their children: Jason Edward (Ashley) Schlink of Valparaiso, Jaclyn Eileen (Michael) Balunda of Aurora, IL; his mother, Joyce Schlink of Aurora, IL, brother, Keith William (Cheryl) Schlink of Osceola, IN; and grandchildren: Kyla, Brooklyn, Axel and Evvie Schlink, Luke and Baby Balunda. He was preceded in death by his father. A visitation will be held Saturday from 12:00 noon - 4:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 505 Bullseye Lake Rd., Valparaiso with Rev. Roger Bower to officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family for a charitable cause to be chosen in the near future.
