Dale Alfred Slagle

Dale Alfred Slagle, 78, passed away on 10/11/2025 in Tyler, TX. He was a loving husband, father and grand paw. He enjoyed flying and spent 3 years restoring a 1946 Europa airplane which he loved flying. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and daughters. He and wife Lynda loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas . He also enjoyed restoring and driving his 1947 Jeep in local parades and volunteering with Toys for Tots. He enjoyed helping people and spent much of his adult life trying.

He is survived by his wife Lynda Saunders Slagle of 29 years, his two daughters Jodie Slagle Eubanks and Rodney Eubanks and their son Clayton of Tyler, TX. Jamie Dayle Slagle and sons Cooper and Grayson Slagle of Sunset, TX. Lynda's daughter Jeannette Salas Baker and her husband Len Baker. Son Armando Salas, his wife Aimee Salas. Daughter Denise Salas Hayes and husband Mack Hayes of Lufkin, TX. Grandchildren Randal Bunton, Johnathan Bunton, Griffin Salas and Amanda Salas. Great-grandchildren Madalyn, Johnae, Ian and Ivy Bunton of Lufkin, TX and Nieces Tammy Wilburn and Betty Womack of Roxboro N.C.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents Alfred Dallas Slagle and Maxine Clayton Slagle and sister Gail Horner of Roxboro, N.C. First wife Beverly Greene of Tyler, TX married twenty five years.

Dale attended Roxboro High School, Stephen F. Austin University and Angelina College.

He was an Automatic Tracking Radar Technician were he directed B-52 bombers in the U.S. Air Force. He served two six month tours in Vietnam. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal twice and rose to the rank of Sargent. He worked for South Western Bell for years as a cable splicer and eleven years as an outside plane engineer. He was charter member of the Nacogdoches Firefighter Auxiliary were he worked as a firefighter for nine years. He was a certified SCUBA diver and a charter member of the Nacogdoches Underwater Search and Recovery team for fifteen years. He was a Certified Paramedic for Nacogdoches County Hospital and volunteer ambulance driver for fourteen years. He graduated as a registered Nurse in 1991 and retired in 2009. He earned his private pilot's license in 1991 and began working for Hutch Aviation at the Nacogdoches Regional Airport as office manager for their pilot training school. He joined Moffett Volunteer Fire Department for three years and Angelina County firefighter rehab group for two years. He was a classroom instructor for Emergency Disaster Responders and manager of the Red Cross warehouse where he and Lynda were deployed nurses to 11 disasters all over the United States.

We are so very sorry for your loss. Dale was such a huge loss for us as a friend. He was always there in the good times and during the hard times. He will greatly missed but we know the angels are rejoicing. And he is sitting at Jesus“ feet. Glory to God.
