Dale Spratt, Jr.

Dale "Bud" Spratt, Jr., age 86, of Toledo's Point Place Community passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, January 16, 2021. He was born November 12, 1934 in Wellston, OH to Dale and Marcena (Collins) Spratt, Sr. Dale was a 1953 graduate of Libbey High School. During high school he was recognized as a member of the All City football and basketball teams. A veteran of the US Air Force, Dale proudly served his country for four years. He continued to play basketball while in the Air Force. Dale attended the University of Toledo and electrical trade school. His first career was as an officer for the Toledo Police Department for 6 years. In 1965, he left the police department to work as an electrician for Regent Electric. Dale was a 53 year member of IBEW Local 8. He also belonged to Elks Lodge 53 and the American Legion Post 119 in Largo, FL. Dale loved spending summer vacations at Lake Wilson in Hillsdale, MI. He enjoyed spending winters in Largo, FL at the Teak Wood Village.

Dale is survived by his wife, Jean (Franich-Ardner) Spratt; son, Dale David (Victoria) Spratt; daughters, Robin (Greg) Kigar and Sandra (Mike) Ibarra; step-daughter, Tracy Ardner; grandchildren, Greg (Kelly) Kigar, Jennifer (J.J.) Fought, Ryan Spratt, Katie (Andrew) Kersten, Shawn Spratt, Lance Ibarra, and Bryce Ibarra; sister, Susan Simon; sisters-in-law, Mary Bryce and Patti (Dennis) Jackson; brothers-in-law, John (Patty) Franich, Jim (Glenda) Franich and Joe (Norma) Franich; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sally Spratt; and step-sons, Scott and Mark Ardner.

Family and friends may visit on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 9-10:30 a.m. at David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St. Toledo, OH. Services will continue with a Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Dale will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery with Military Honors.

Memorial donations may be given to a charity of the donor's choice. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, those wishing to attend are reminded that masks are required and social distancing rules will be observed.
