Our thoughts and prays are with you on the loss of your wonderful father. He meant alot to my mom's family growing up in Lakeville the LOVELACE'S. He married my Mom and Dad and Baptised my sister and I and confirmed me.He was a thoughtful and caring person. I always thought that was so neat that he did all that and more for our family. Our deepest sympathy to you all.

To the Dallas Blenkush family.
I knew Dal ever since I was a kid growing up in Shakopee. Even then I remember him for his strong beliefs in his faith, He will be missed by so many old friends. Bob Rein (Lady Lake Fl.)

Dear Steve, Annie and Mary Jane -- We send you our heartfelt condolences. My dad, John Holum, mentioned this morning that he saw the obituary for your dad in the paper. I remember so fondly the time when, as children, we lived next door to you all: when your mom and my mom chatted over occasional coffee, and your lively Yorkshire Terriers always bounded to greet through the fence us as we entered our back door. The home your mom and dad created was so warm and welcoming. Being neighbors with you way back when in south Minneapolis all is a treasured memory. Lots of love to you all -- Ann Holum, Alex Kass, and Daniel and David

I used to babysit your Dad and his brothers many years ago as we were all growing up in Shakopee. The last time I talked to him was when I was working at the pension board of the ELCA. So sorry for your loss.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family on the loss of a wonderful man. I only knew Dallas recently, after he retired. I will always remember him when he got up last fall during the church service and danced with others while the choir was singing an African spiritual! He was loving it!

Dear Steve, Ann & Mary, though I have already signed the guest book of the funeral home, I just want you to know again how much the time I worked with him has been a continuing blessing to me since I became a pastor. I also remember (and you all may have no memory of this because you were children) the fun it was to have dinner in your home. Your father made me anxious about holding on to the food on my plate as he would all of a sudden pretend he was seeing something and getting the rest of us to look up as he removed something from our plates.
Please know that we prayed for all of you on Sunday in the congregation I am serving. Someone said to me when my mother died that has been helpful for me. I share that with you: "ultimately the pain you are in now will become a time of remembering" and you have a lot to remember. You remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Blenkush family as we mourn the loss of a wonderful leader and dynamic speaker, who was an inspiration to our family during the years we raised our children as members of St. Johns Lutheran Church of Lakeville

I will always remember Pastor Blenkush in confirmation. We always had a good time with him. He was one of a kind. He will be deeply missed. I will always remember when he gave sermons all of the hand gestures that he always used but then you were always paying attention to him. My deepest sympathy to the family.

Steve, Anne, Mary Jane our most heartfelt condolences to you and your families at this time. Having worked for Pastor Dallas and Pastor Dan for several years as church secretary I was able to see his personality. Always caring, willing to listen, humorous and dedicated to his faith. He will be missed but always remember that "memories are everlasting". I'm sure memories of Dallas will be held by the many who were touched by him. May God be with you today and always.

Dallas is a kind man. While listening to me talk about all the negative things, he stopped me and said, "Now tell me everything good, I want to hear how GREAT you are!" I'll never forget that. I think of it often.
Thank you, Dallas.

Unfortunately my memory is not that good, but I do remember Dallas and my father, Pastor Dan Olson, holding sunday services together at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lakeville. One Sunday morning, as Dallas and my dad stood outside the sanctuary greeting the congregation as usual, I remember overhearing a young boy ask his mother, "is that God and Jesus?". Priceless! What I can remember about Dallas, from the eyes of a 10 year old girl back then, was his demeanor. Warm, generous, funny and genuine. He will be missed most definitely, but I have a feeling he's enjoying where he is right now. My heart goes out to his family. May the sorrow you feel today become joy in his memories tomorrow.

We shared a birthday and joked about starting a club for people hit by trains. His speaking style was one of the best I've ever seen. He definitely knew how to grab and hold people's attention while he mesmerized us with his message. He was always the standard to which I held other ministers, and none came near his mark. He was truly one of a kind. I'm sorry I didn't get to say goodbye, but someday I'll say hello again. My sincere condolences to all his family.
